| Powercon is a chemical admixture, which enhances the compressive strength of concrete spectacularly. Based on polymerised naphthalene sulphonic acid, it is a superplasticizer par excellence for cement systems. Powercon is a must for Readymix Concrete manufacturers and suppliers. Powercon goes into 75% of the Readymix Concrete produced in Korea and has sizeable share of the chemical admixture markets of Japan and South East Asia. In India, however, an overwhelming majority of cement users resorts to onsite concrete mixing. For a benefit of such users, cement manufacturers should consider the option of trading Powercon through their normal distribution channels. This should add tremendous value to the cement sold. Mere 0.2 to 1% of Powercon on the weight of cement is all that is required to make free flowing self levelling concrete with conventional water to cement ratio. On the other hand, water to cement ratio can be reduced to value as low as 0.28 to 0.30 without affecting workability to produce concrete of very high compressive strength. |
