Walkthrough

For this walkthrough, I will refer to the main character as "Gold".

You start out in your bedroom. Professor Oak is the DJ on the radio,

and a map of the continent is on your wall. Downstairs, your mother, who

I'll refer to as "Mom" tells you to see Professor Utsugi, and she give

you your new PokéGear. Mom asks what day of the week it is, the default

is Sunday, and what time it is. You now go to meet Professor Utsugi!

Heading outside to the west, and north a bit, is Professor Utsugi's lab.

You may choose one Pokémon to take with you. The Pokemon you can choose

are:

-Hedgehog thing (Fire)

-Crocodile thing (Water)

-Leaf-headed thing (Grass)

Afterwards, Professor explains the machine in the lab. It is a healing

device for your Pokemon, you can also find these at the Pokemon Center.

Then, on your way out, the assistant give you a Potion. Also, "Pokémon"

is now at the top of your menu screen. You also now have Professor

Oak's phone number, as well as your mother's. Outside of the lab, a girl

stands next to it...very suspicious... You were told to go to Professor

Oak's lab for a weird egg that was discovered. You need to take it back

to Professor Utsugi to research.

Heading west, you meet Pokémon in the grass such as Pidgey, Ratatta, and

this Racoon thing. A few quick battles should get your Pokémon up to at

least level 6 or 7, if not higher. You'll pass a house, but keep going

west. Heading west, you find an old man and a town. The man will show

you around the town, if you like. However, the only point of interest

is the Pokémon Center with the words "PC" outside on the wall. Heal your

Pokémon if needed. Talk to the old man at the entrance to the town for

a tour of the city, and to get a Map Card from him. Then, head up north

until you reach Professor Oak's house. Listen to what they have to say.

Then, head back to the town. As you try to go east, your rival will

attack you with his stolen Pokemon. He should have what your weak

against. After you beat him make sure your at atleast level 10. Now if

you head north the two people that were battling are gone, so you can

proceed to the next town, for your first badge. On the way catch some

new Pokemon and don't go into the cave yet on the way.

Now that your at the town, head for the gym. This gym leader uses flying

types. He uses a Pidgey and a Pidgeotto. Really easy battle! So now you

have your first badge. Head north to the tower. Make your way to the

top, gaining levels as you go. Once your at the top, you will see your

rival beating up a monk. Once he sees you disappears. Fight the monk and

if you win, you get HM5, which teaches Flash to an electric Pokemon.

Now head south, you will see a weird tree thing which you'll need to

fight later on. Go south until you reach the caves, in one of the caves

you will find a old puzzle of a Kabuto. Finish the puzzle and you will

fall into a hole. In the hole you will find these weird, stick, Pokemon

that all look different but have the same Pokedex entry. Your main

Pokemon should be at least at level 20 now.

Further south, you will find some more caves, with Geodude, Onix and

Zubat in it. Find your way out of the cave to find the next city! Head

west to find that the town has been captured by TeamRocket! Head into

one of the house to talk to this man, he'll rush out and now you can

enter the well to east. Beat all the trainers inside the well to free

the town and open up the gym. This gym uses bug type Pokemon such as

Metapod, Kakuna, and Scyther. A bit harder battle then before but you

can do it. Before you leave, make sure you have the egg, which you can

find in the PokeCenter. Just talk to the scientest guy, he'll ask you a

question and say yes.

As you head west into the forest, you'll encounter your rival. He uses

Gastly, his starting Pokemon and another Pokemon that I forget. Anyway

after you beat him keep on going west into the forest. Inside you'll

find some level 4-5 Pokemon, so catch some new Pokemon and level up to

about level 20-25. As you progress you will find that there will be a

bird that every time you talk to it, it will move to another place,

well, make it move near the two people near the beginning of the forest.

They will give you HM1, which is Cut.

Cut your way through the forest, then head north until you reach a big

city. Heal you Pokemon and head to the gym. This gym trainer uses normal

Pokemon like Clefairy and this new cow Pokemon. The cow is really

annoying because he has high defense, high attack and has a recovering

move. Once you beat him, make sure you have the egg with you and head

north. Just as your passing through the doors to the north, the egg will

hatch in to Togepi. Now continue north into this park shaped as a

PokeBall. If you talk to the guy in the hut place, he will ask you to

join this contest. What you do in this contest is you have to try and

catch the best Pokemon. The best I've found is a Syther. Then you get

cash for it, and the best part, is that you get to keep them!

Before you leave to the east, make sure that you have the PokeFlute,

which is located in the house with all the flowers on the east side of

the town. As in previous versions, it wakes up sleeping Pokemon. Now go

back to the park and head east. You'll find a strange looking tree. Talk

to it and it will attack you. It's a level 20 and it's pretty good. Make

sure you catch this, as there is only one so far.

Head north to find the next town with the next gym. All the trainers use

ghost type Pokemon. The leader uses Gastly, Haunter, Gengar and another

Haunter. After you beat them claim your badge and go into a dance place.

You will find 5 girls in it. All of them will battle you with Eevee's

evolutions and 2 new ones. Then talk to the man on the floor. He will

give you HM3, which teaches Surf. No that you have surf you can cross

oceans and rivers.

Head west to the next town. When you enter the gym, no one will be

there. Go to the east of the town and into the second house from the

left. Talk to the man, and he will give you HM4, Strength. Surf south-

west until you reach a town. Goto the gym. All the trainers use fighting

Pokemon and the Gym Leader uses Primeape and Poliwrath. Leave the town

and head back to the town with the empty gym.

Head up the tower to the east of the town, and when your at the top, you

will see a girl and her Pokemon. Talk to the girl, who turns out to be

the gym leader! Head down to the gym. There are no trainers in this gym,

just a gym leader. She uses two Magnemites and then a new Steel-looking

Onix.

Next, head east past the town with the ghost gym and keep on going west.

You'll reach a tunnel which you have to go through. Once your through

you'll reach a new town with a gym but, the gym is blocked by a man.

Head north until you reach a river with a Gyrados in it. Surf in and

capture or defeat the Gyrados. Then, by the sign you will find this guy

in a cape, Lance, talk to him. He will talk to you then fly away. Go

back to the town and go into one of the houses with a sign in front of

it.

Lance will be in there and will open up a secret staircase in the floor.

Follow him down. Make your way through by beating Team Rocket members

and getting their keycards. Eventually you will reach Lance again and

you will have to fight more Team Rocket people. Then, deactivate the

reactor by defeating three Electrodes.
