Confederate Flag / Jamacian Flag Throw a fast sleeper Grab the string with all four fingers of your left hand near the top of the string Reach down with all four finger of your right hand and grab the string Reach down with your left hand again and grab the string with all four finger Reach down with your right hand again and hook the string with your pinky, you now should have a confederate flag. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- British Flag Throw a fast sleeper. Start like a Confederate Flag by grabing the string with all 4 fingers of your left hand, then your right hand, then your left hand again to create an 'X' in the yo-yo string. Be sure to keep this formation rather small Twist your hand so the string goes around the underside of your right pinky then up between your right middle and ring fingers. Reach down with your left hand and pinch the string between your left middle and ring fingers, so you have a piece of string going across the 'X'. Reach your left thumb down and hook the string , lift it up and hold it so the string draps over your left thumb and goes down behind the middle of the 'X' to the yo-yo. If everything went right, you should have a british flag. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eiffel Tower Throw a sleeper. Place the backs of your left thumb and index finger against the string with your palm facing you. Pull your right hand down below your left hand and hook the string with your thumb. Put a twist in the string with your left hand to form a loop Reach your left hand through the loop and grab the string coming from the yo-yo. Let the loop slide off your left hand onto the string. Clamp the string coming form the yo-yo between your right index and middle finger, This is the bottom of the tower. Pinch the top and you should have what looks like an Eiffel tower. Drop all string and the yo-yo will come back to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'Y' is for Yo-Yo Make an eiffel tower then hold it upside down so it's likes like a 'y'. You should have the yo-yo hanging next to the tower so it looks like an 'o'. Now your string and yo-yo spells 'yo'. If you are doing this for an audience make sure it says yo to them, not 'oy' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One-Handed Star / Ursa Minor Throw a fast sleeper Put your right pinky under the yo-yo string so it goes from your middle finger, under you ring finger over your pinky Twist your hand around and catch the string with the nail side of your index finger so the string goes underneath your finger across your nail over the top and down Next reach down and hook the string with you ring finger so the string goes from the top of your index finger, across you hand and over the top of your ring finger Then have the string go around the bottom of your thumb, then under your index finger then over the other three fingers. You should then have a star, the string should not be making a full circle around any of your fingers. Drop all string to bring the yo-yo back to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2-Handed Star / Ursa Major / Texas Star Throw a fast sleeper and hook the string with your left thumb (your left palm should be facing away from you) Reach down with your right hand and hook the string with your pinky. Now reach your left index finger down and lift the string coming from the yo-yo. Reach your right thumb through the triangle you've created and hook the string with the nail side of the thumb and pull it through Twist your right middle finger down and hook the string coming from your yo-yo to form the top of the star. Drop all string to return the yo-yo to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Cross Throw a fast sleeper Put your left index finger against the side of the string closest to you and pull your right hand down so you are draping the string over left finger. With your right hand pinch the string coming from the yo-yo between you middle and ring finger and pull your left hand down so the formation you have runs parallel to the ground, this makes the arms of the cross Reach your left middle finger down and hook the string running from your right hand to the yo-yo. Pull the string up to form the top of the cross. Now with your right hand, push your thumb against the string between your left middle finger and right hand to complete the top of the cross. Drop all string and the yo-yo will come back to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One Handed Spider Web Place the backs of your thumb and index finger of your left hand against the string with your palm facing towards you. Reach down with your right hand and hook the string with the nail side of your thumb Twist the string in your left hand to form a loop, then reach through the loop and pinch the string below your right thumb with your thumb and index finger. Let the loop slip off your left hand onto the string Twist your the string in your left hand and repeat the process with your right ring finger then your right pinkie Place the loop that you should be holding over your right index finger. You should now have a loop around every finger except your middle which has the string tied to it. This trick looks best if you do everything very small so all the loop join in the center -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two Handed Spider Web Start this trick like a 2 handed star: Throw a fast sleeper and hook the string with your left thumb (your left palm should be facing away from you) Reach down with your right hand and hook the string with your pinky. Now reach your right index finger down and lift the string below your right hand. Reach your right thumb through the triangle you've created and hook the string with the nail side of your thumb and pull it through. Now swing the yo-yo up up towards you on a circle around the figure you've made twice. You should now have loop around four fingers. Drop all string and the yo-yo will come back to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daisy Throw a fast sleeper. Hook the string with your left index finger, then reach down and hook it with your right index finger, then your left middle finger then your right ring finger then your left ring finger then your right pinkie and then your left pinkie Now swing the yo-yo up towards you up over the top of the figure three or four time and you have made a daisy. Drop all string and the yo-yo will return to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scissors Start this trick like a 2 handed star: Throw a fast sleeper and hook the string with you your left thumb (your left palm should be facing away from you) Reach down with your right hand and hook the string with your pinky. Now reach your right index finger down and lift the string that's below your right hand. Now swing the yo-yo up over the top and around the figure you've created. You will now have a scissors. Move your left and right index and middle fingers up and down to make the scissors cut then drop the string and the yo-yo will come back to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Behind Bars Throw a fast sleeper Hook the string with your left middle finger then with your right middle finger, then your left ring finger, then your right ring finger then your left pinkie then your right pinkie. Hold the bars in front of your face and you will be in jail. Drop the string and the yo-yo will return to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bowtie Throw a fast sleeper and drape the string over your four left fingers. Reach down and grab the string with all four right fingers. Twist your left hand to make a loop then reach through the loop and grab the string with all four fingers. Let the loop slide off your hand then pull your hands apart until you have a bowtie. Drop all strings and the yo-yo will come back to your hands. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Motorcycle Start by making a bowtie. Now take your hands out of the loops replacing them with just your thumbs. Turn your right hand upside down, these are your handlebars. Now lower the yo-yo to the floor, it is your motorcycle's front wheel -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chinese Puzzle Start by making an eiffel tower but keep your left thumb and index finger in the top loop. Now hook the string coming from the yo-yo with your right pinkie Twist your left hand, reach through the loop and grab the string below your right pinkie. Let the loop slip off your left hand onto the strings. Pull your left hand out to the side and you have made a chinese puzzle. Drop all strings and the yo-yo will return to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shooting Star Make a 2 handed star Now swing the yo-yo in a circle up and towards you over the top of the star. Do a few loops then let go of all string to send the yo-yo shooting out in front of you. Catch it when it comes back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cow Jumps Through the Star Thanks to Jon Make a big 2 handed star. Tilt the top of the star back towards you. Swing the yo-yo away from you and up and aim to swing it through the center of the star. After you get it in, drop all string and the yo-yo will return to your hand. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double Star Thanks to Cody Hudson Throw a good sleeper and put your left middle finger against the string between your body and the yo-yo. Do a one-handed star with your left hand by wrapping your left pinky, index, ring finger and thumb around the string. It might help to practice doing one-handed stars with the yo-yo on your left hand. Keep the star around your left hand (which must be very small) and do a star with your right hand at the same time. |
