<>The Plot Of The First Episode
The Pilot— <>Fresh from a visiting Dawson's Creek friend Pacey, Will Krudski arrives at Rawley Academy, a ritzy New England boarding school. Will, a townie, is attending Rawley on a scholarship he didn't exactly earn (he cheated on the entrance exam). At Rawley he hopes to escape his abusive father.
<>Will hits it off immediately with his new roommate, Scout Calhoun. Scout comes from a privileged background and a long line of Rawley Academy grads. There's even a Calhoun Hall on campus named after his family. While tooling around town on his bike, Scout scouts out Bella Banks. He introduces himself to her (with a Coke, of course). Bella who's busy washing a truck at her dad's garage where she works, clearly wants Scout but makes fun of him anyway for being a spoiled rich kid. Bella, also a townie, is a lifelong good friend of Will's.
<>Will admits to Scout that he cheated on his test to get into Rawley. Scout vows to never divulge the secret and pledges to help Will ease his guilt about cheating. Finn, their English teacher and crew coach, overhears them talking about it and he confronts Will.
<>Meanwhile, Bella and Scout spend some time bonding alone together and she tells him the father she is living with is not her bio-dad. Scout and Bella end up kissing. Later, when Scout shows up at Bella's dad's garage, her dad is none-too-pleased to meet him. He tells Scout he's not welcome around there. Daddy Banks tells them both they have the same father.
<>Also new at Rawley is Hamilton Fleming. He's the Dean's son, but totally without a Dean-like attitude. Hamilton and Jake Pratt, also a new student, strike up a friendship when Hamilton spots Jake's "illegal" motorcycle. Jake's apparently been to every boarding school on the eastern seaboard, evidently trying to hide her gender. Jake and Hamilton become friends and when gabbing about sex one day, Jake kisses Hamilton. Both freak out, but discuss it later and decide to be friends.

Cinderbella (#YA104)
It's Rawley Summer Cotillion time -- just in time for Will to purse the girl of his dreams. It's Caroline Busse (guest star Michelle Monoghan) and he falls for her when he sees her walking across campus. Of course Will's roommate Scout knows her from the playgrounds of the rich and famous. Scout gives him the lowdown on her (including a detailed description of the bikini she wore at St. Bart's). Even though Will thinks she out of his league, Scout convinces him to ask her to the Cotillion. He attempts to, but she already has a date.
In need of a date for the dance so he can continue his pursuit of Caroline, Will coaxes Bella to go with him. Paige squeezes an invite out of Scout. Jake and Hamilton share yet another awkward moment when they both agree to go "stag" to the dance.
At the Cotillion, Bella makes a stunning entrance wearing her mother's old gown. As per usual, Scout cannot keep his eyes off of her. Hamilton and Jake arrive at the dance separately, but Hamilton decides to seize the moment and confront Jake. In the men's room they share a passionate kiss. Hamilton freaks, but Jake says not to panic because she's a girl. She rips open her tux to show him her naturally-filled black bra. Hamilton storms off.
At the dance, Bella runs into her naughty younger sister who is supposed to be at home for the arrival of the gas truck at midnight. It's 11:55.(Get the whole Cinderella thing?) Bella races around looking for Will, who has been impressing Caroline with his mysterious knowledge of her. Bella interrupts them and says she has to leave the dance. Will runs off after her, dropping his wallet. They get to the gas station just as the truck is leaving. However, Bella's boyfriend Sean saw the truck and signed for the gas, saving the night. He, in his adorable red baseball uniform, dances with Bella as she sings in the street.
Caroline is waiting back at Will's room and she confronts him for lying about his being a townie (she found that out from his wallet). Hamilton visits Jake's room and the kiss again.
July 26
Kiss and Tell (#YA103)
The feminine balance is thrown off with the arrival of Paige Bennett (guest star Cyndi Johnson), a beautiful, sophisticated new student at Rawley Girls Academy who Bella likes in spite of herself. Paige is unabashedly in romantic pursuit of Scout. After a Paige and Scout date and some jealous back-and-forth between Bella and Scout, Scout tells Bella that he actually has a crush on Paige — obviously attempting to put a sort of barrier between them to destroy their painful attraction to each other.
Meanwhile, Will has a run-in with a trouble-making upperclassman, Ryder Forrest (guest star Charles Hunnam). Will and Ryder spy Finn in an embrace with the dean's wife. While Ryder seeks to spread the gossip through a video tape, Will attempts to stop him. When the video tape ends up in the Dean's office, Will breaks into it to steal the tape and protect Finn. Will gets caught and receives a stern reprimand from Finn, who doesn't know that Will did it to protect him. After a blow-out, Finn sees that his hooking up with the dean's wife is causing moral dilemmas for more than just himself.
Also, Hamilton and Jake find themselves in a confusing competition over a would-be student at Rawley Girls Academy. The girl, who is much more interested in Jake, makes a pass, but Jake tells her that there's "someone else
