The term "intercession" or to "intercede" means - to stand between Elohim and the individual (s) for whom we are praying at the appointed time for which our spirit has been called to pray. The prefix "Inter" means "between" while the suffix "cession" means "a class of time". When we intercede for someone, we transcend from the natural realm into the spiritual realm. We may start out praying with our natural mind, our natural senses, our natural language and understanding; however, the Holy Spirit draws us into a higher state of consciousness. We then begin to move beyond the veil that separates the natural realm from the spiritual realm; thus, enabling us to enter into the realm of intercession and warfare. In the spirit realm, Elohim communicates to our spirit by way of speaking HIS Word and/or by revealing visions (pictures) of people, places and things. When we intercede, we position ourselves in the breach of a protective hedge or perimeter that surrounds the person (s) for whom we are interceding. A hedge or perimeter is usually breached by active, unconfessed sin in an individual's life. A perimeter can also be infiltrated by the constant, fierce attacks of enemy forces in a vulnerable or unguarded area in the life of an individual.
It is written, "Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of Elohim." (Romans 8:26-27) So, you see, once we enter into the spirit realm, the Holy Spirit begins to take over our prayer. The reason for this is because naturally, we do not know the language of the spirit. It is written, "For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.....I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also." (1 Corinthians 14-15) The spirit world has its own languages and culture. That is why we do not know how, who or what to pray for once we enter into the world of the spirit. We can also pray in the natural realm with our understanding. However, when we intercede, we pray with the spirit (in the spirit) while our natural minds are unintelligable of the Spirit's utterances.

Our human spirit, that has been transformed by and filled with the Holy Spirit, stretches forth to connect with Yahweh. Yahweh Elohim, the all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-present Spirit, connects Himself to Himself inside of us. He then begins to pray in His own language through us for the individuals, places and things that we see in our spiritual vision. This is a common experience for active intercessors.
Again, we position ourselves to stand in the gap of a broken hedge or perimeter by the act of prayer. Once we enter into the spirit realm, the Holy Spirit of Yahweh Elohim assists us in our communication effort since we do not naturally, know how, who, or what to pray for. At the exact moment that we see flashes of faces, places and things while praying in the spirit, that is the appointed cession or class of time that the Father has ordained for us to be in position to pray for what we see. We may not know what we are saying in the spirit, but the Father allows us to see who and what we are praying for. This, of course, depends on our relationship with Him and how often we frequent the the Father's throne by way of intercession. As children of the Most High, it is of the utmost importance that we remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit's call to intercession so that we may be in position at the appointed cession of time for the deliverance of others.
PRAYING will enable us to communicate with the Father, but INTERCESSION will cause us to know Yahweh on a higher level. For intercession empowers us to hear His voice with clarity. We will begin to see as He sees. We will understand the emotions of the Father in a given matter. We will weep when He weeps and laugh when He laughs. When we intercede to Yahweh, it will block out the enemy's mobile, visual and audio traffic in the air. Intercession is a key to lock out the darkness and to open unto us the light of Yahweh's knowledge, wisdom and understanding. It is a straight line of communication between our Yahweh-filled human spirit (the Holy Spirit inside of us) and Yahweh Elohim Himself. It is high time for us, as believers, to stay before the Father and King of Righteousness in intercession.

Make no mistake. Anyone who yields themselves to intercession must not be a novice. He or she who conducts intercession must be knowledgeable of the Word of Yahweh, as well as the spirit realm and its activities. In other words, there is an on-going war in the heavenlies. Once we enter into the spirit realm, we must be READY TO FIGHT! This means we must know enough of Yahweh's Word (the sword of the spirit) to be able to effectively engage the enemy. It is not wise to send a new recruit to battle. WARRIORS are sent to wage war against the enemies of their Commander-In-Chief. Warriors are those who excel in the knowledge of their assigned weapons. They are those who are effective in employing their weapons. True warriors are skilled and experienced in warfare, and possess the discipline to overcome battle fatigue in order to ensure victory. They have a working knowledge of their enemy's identity, operating procedures and plan of attack. True intercessory prayer warriors are seasoned, fearless individuals who are spiritually mature enough to identify, confront, call, and cast out demonic spirits. True intercessory prayer warriors are also courageous and will stand and fight against their enemies in the midst of physical, psychological and spiritual attacks.
Keep in mind, that, although intercessors are individuals, greater works can be wrought in the spirit when we COME TOGETHER AND PRAY. Most importantly, we must have an active and thriving prayer life in order to be effective in spiritual warfare. Above all, THE WORD OF YAHWEH is the final authority on which the intercessor stands. "FOR THE WORD OF YAHWEH IS QUICK, AND POWERFUL, AND SHARPER THAN ANY TWO EDGED SWORD, PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVIDING ASUNDER OF SOUL AND SPIRIT, AND OF THE JOINTS AND MARROW, AND IS A DISCERNER OF THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS OF THE HEART." (Hebrews 4:12) We must never forget: THE BLOOD OF YAHSHUA THE MESSIAH IS OUR LIFE SOURCE AND PROTECTION. Let us stay covered therein by remaining obedient to Yahweh in all things; for by it, we gain the VICTORY!!!
