Yes. I'm serious. Today, July 21, 2004, I think I either discovered a really rare species of Catfish or a whole new one altogether... Weird, huh? Good thing I took a picture of it on MY fishing rod, or no one would've believed that I was the one who caught it. It's about 18 inches and that's my Dad holding it up. We thought it was a Flathead, maybe, but the weird thing was the dorsal fin, and the fact that it extended all the way to it's tail... Man, I should've kept it, but hopefully it'll breed, then someone'll catch it and get a million $$ for discovering a new species... Darn... It was well over the minimum of length so I could've kept it, but I didn't think anything of it and let it go... It was fun catching it, though. We were actually fly fishing and the bait (a worm) was about 3 ft off the land. Well, I was watching my Dad's bobber out in the lake while he baited another pole so he could fly fish, too, while he waited for a big bass to attack the baitfish we'd caught earlier. Then, I felt a little tug, which you normally don't feel when fly fishing, so, curious, I barely thrusted the pole upwards, and it just about yanked me into the water. Dad didn't even notice. Well, I pulled and reeled in, and it's tail flipped up and it looked just like a bass's tail. I said, "Dad, I hooked something.", as if it were a Blue Gill or something. I kept reeling in and it hit the ground. It was wiggling and I thought I'd caught an eel. Then I saw the whiskers... Then realized it was a catfish. Well, anyways, here's a picture of it...
