Our Commitment
We are committed to breeding great dogs for family pets, showmanship, and with natural hunting abilities. We strive to better the Vizsla race through selective breeding to meet our desired outcome of a well rounded dog that is family oriented and always up for the hunt.
Introduction
We created this site to introduce the LaCost family's Vizsla's. Breeder/Owners are William and Chandra LaCost. Our dogs are family dogs and are bred for temperament, beauty, showmanship, and are natural hunting dogs. They come from long family backgrounds of championship field hunters and best of breed. They are NOT kennel dogs or bred with kennel breeders. These are well love and cared for dogs that live in our home with us. Lucy Lou is expecting a litter in early April that will be ready for adoption the last week of may. We are accepting deposits as early as March. Pick of litter is based on a first reserve first pick basis. Thank you for visiting our site! Good luck in finding your new family member!!! Sincerely, Bill and Chandra LaCost
Words of Advice
Please be careful with your selection of breeders. This area of the country is unfortunately full of breeders that do not care to better the breed and that breed openly in kennels. Always remember that you get what you pay for. There are a lot of differing opinions on what testing you should have done before breeding your dogs. The general consensus is that Mom should definately be at least two years old. This is to allow her body time to mature and also to allow for any abnomalities that may be present to show themselves (such as dysplasia's, eye issues, and epilepsy). Vizsla's as a breed do not have a high incidence of congenital abnormalities. However, it is always better to be safe than sorry. When buying a dog of any breed look at both Mom and Dad's pedigrees to be sure that they are in no way related. Issues that are a possibilty in a breed will be a lot more likely to happen if the dogs are related in any way. This is why it is important to look at AKC certified pedigrees and also read up on what possible issues are common in the breed of dog you are adopting. I have included links to resources for you to learn more about the Vizsla breed and to research the pedigree not only of the Mom and Dad but their family as well. I have also included a link to Lucy and Buddy's certified pedigrees. Good Luck in your adoption of a Vizsla Baby.
