John Russell's ( George C. Scott)is a composer who has just moved into a house following the tragic death of his wife and daughter. Soon after moving in he experiences strange unexplainable things. Pipes banging at six a.m. every morning., water running in the sink for no reason and windows breaking outward for no reason. One night when hearing the water running it leads him upstairs to the bathroom where he sees a boy drowning in the tub. Soon after he discovers a secret door covered by a wall. On the other side of the door lies a a stairway to an attic that was unvisited for years. Covered by cobwebs. After researching the house it is discovered that it has a history so he calls in psychics to try and solve the problem. It turns out that a boy was murdered in a tub in the attic of the house then buried in a well. I would tell you more but it would be better to see it.
