In the game, the whole story begins in Vice City (Miami, FL) of 1986 when a trade-off between the main character (Tommy Vercetti) and the Hatians is actually an ambush. Two of Tommy's accomplices are killed. In the crossfire, Tommy loses the money and is stuck in Vice City until he pays Sonny Forelli (His Boss) every cent back to him.
