| Hi my name is Sam, I am the mother of a 19 year old daughter. I am a freelane writer for our local newspaper. I was raised by parents who never allowed predjudice and injust to be a factor in our home. Growing up in the 60s and watching the horror fo the Vietnam war on Tv, I became outraged at what American soilders were going through, and also confused because no one could explain to me the reasons behind the insanity of the war. From the early 70s when the first troops begin returning home to a country that had turned aqainst them , a dream of someday being able to do something for the vietnam veterans was borned. Two years agoI began the project of building a veterans memorial wall in my hometown to honor all veterans from my county both living and dead, who served in all the branches of the military from WWI through present day. I spent many hours designing and building a model of what the Veterans Wall would look like. Durning the past two years many of our veterans have passed away, and will never see their name honored on the wall. My gaol is to have this Veterans Memorial Wall completed this year. Funding, however, has became a huge obstacle.
