Hi. My name is Jessica Harris. I'm 11 years old. I have dedicated this site to tell people about the horrible tragedies that have been happening at schools lately. The Columbine accident for instance. It shouldn't have happened. Those kids did not deserve to die. The teens that caused this were stupid.
I haven't been in something like this before, but I still care. At our church, we prayed for those kids and their families, even though we didn't know them. My father went up on the stage and cried because he cared so much. He said something that made me think about things that I've never thought about before: "It happened a week ago in Colorado, but it could happen here tomorrow."
He mentioned something about a girl, a christian girl, who had died in the shooting. Her last words were, "I believe in Jesus Christ." She chose her faith over her life, and then she was killed for it. I don't think she regreted it. She said, "The Lord had to die because he cared about us, so I'm going to die because I care about him."
Her nor any of the other teenagers that were killed in the shooting deserved it. They had long lives ahead of them, but because of two angry teenagers, they won't live it. It's not fair to them, it's not fair to us, and it's not fair to the world. But on the girl's coffin there is a sign, which I believe is true.
HEAVEN IS A BETTER PLACE
I'm sure that Heaven IS a better place, but why did they have to go there now? Why did one simple day of school turn into a horrible day of deaths? These are questions that are always asked when things like this happen. They don't need to be asked anymore. Have some sense, and don't let it happen again.
Below, there is a poem that is dedicated to all of the teenagers and their families in Colorado who were involved in this tragedy. I put it on this page to help ease the pain of some who really care, like my family. Your's should, too.

JOY IN DEATH

If tolling bell I ask the cause.
'A soul has gone to God,'
I'm answered in a lonesome tone;
Is heaven then so sad?

That bells should joyful ring to tell
A soul had gone to heaven,
Would seem to me the proper way,
A good news should be given.
