Welcome! Well, "The Rock" all began when Brother Jim decided that the youth of TUMC should have their own band; to rock out, jam, play at services, and in turn, let their unsaved friends come to Christ through music. We had a big group. Almost 5 or 6 singers, a couple of guitarists, a bass, a drummer, and a keyboardist. Soon enough, most of these members moved on to the big times: college. So we were left with only a few members.
After while, Brother Jim was so busy in the church that he couldn't handle running this thing alone. Along came Jen. She was instrumental in helping to get us off to First Sunday,and many other gigs. She eventually took the band over with our good friend, Mr. Greg. He introduced us into those Lincoln Brewster songs, and the rocked up song, "Everybody Praise the Lord."
After some time, the youth started to graduate, and we were led by a new member of our church, Luke. Luke introduced us into some major popular songs which we played great because of his totally excellent guitar skills. We were doing great.
Luke then went off to college, so we were left leaderless. But, we now lead ourselves, and truly understand the meaning of "youth led praise band." With Jess, and Kim as our singers, Aaron as our guitarist, Becca on the bass, and Dillon on drums, WE WERE SET TO GO!!!! |
