"Hi, my name is Billie Joe Armstrong and I'm going to tell you about how Green Day was formed.
It was just another normal Saturday morning. I got up to have my breakfast when I heard a knock at the door. BANG! BANG! BANG!
“Open the door!”
“Alright, alright I’m coming,” I said as I was walking to the door
As I started to open the door, the person pushed it open and ran straight to my mum. It was Mr. Dumpty (or Humpty Dumpty as we used to call him at school), our school headmaster.
“It’s an outrage!” shouted Mr. Dumpty. “Already, he’s had three detentions and an isolation and he’s still swearing at the other teachers.”
It’s obvious he was talking about me. Although my brothers were more badly behaved.
“W-what are you going to do with him?” my mum asked nervously.
“What am I going to do? What am I going to do?” he repeated.”This is what I’m going to do.I’m going to take him to school forty-five minutes early and make him sit in the school cafeteria and write lines until school starts… Without any breakfast!”
He drove me there in his posh BMW.
When I sat down in the school cafeteria I noticed another boy writing lines aswell.
“So… What did you do?And what’s your name?” the other boy asked.
“My name’s Billie Joe Armstrong and I swore at the teachers.”
“Same ere,”said the boy. “Exept my mame’s Micheal Ryan Pritchard.”
As the day went by, me and Micheal met again and they arranged to meet at my house at 4 pm.
At 4 pm, I heard the doorbell ring. I rushed to answer the door. It was Micheal.
“Do you play any instruments?” asked Micheal
“Yeah,” I said. “I play guitar.”
“Cool! I play bass.”
“Do you want to start a band if we find a drummer?”
“YEAH!WICKED!”
And we did find a drummer. That drummer was called John Kiffmeyer. For my birthday I got my first guitar off my dad. It was a Stratocaster that I christened “Blue”. Sadly, later that year, my dad died but we still caried on having band practice. We all had band names. I just took off my last name to make it Billie Joe, Micheal changed his name to Mike Dirnt, and John changed his name to Al Sobrante. Later on, because we were older, we changed the name of the band from Sweet Children to Green Day.
After our first album, Al left the band to go to college so we found a better drummer called Frank Edwin Wright III (A.K.A Tre Cool)
That’s How Green Day was formed.
