Texas Secular Society is Dedicated to the Advancement of Secularism in Texas through Education, Fellowship, Support and Action with Individuals and in Co-operation with other Like Oriented Groups in Texas and Nationally. We have no specific 'creed' but encourage 'freethinking', "the forming of opinions on the basis of reason, independent of tradition, authority, or established belief", and are Committed to Actively Defend the Strict Separation of Church & State. If you have a secular viewpoint, are tired of religions intrusion but feel 'alone' we assure you there are many other Texans sharing your thoughts. We are here to provide information and/or find 'kindred spirits' near you whether you live in an urban or rural area. Let us 'help you to help us' counter the "Religious Right" and foster an open, rational secular atmosphere in which to live and raise our children. Since many of our members are unable, or chose not to join any local groups, our unique "Pile On Program" lets their voices be heard easily, quickly and right from their email, should they chose to do so.
