Character Guide
Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader-
Appears in: All episodes
Home Planet: Tatooine
Road to Episode III: Violating the Jedi code of no attachments, Anakin secretly married Senator Pademe Amidala at the end of Episode II. He also began his fall to the dark side by slaughtering a whole village of spiky-faced Sand People. In Episode III, for reasons as yet unknown, Anakin becomes truly evil, turning from Jedi to sometimes yellow-eyed Sith. And as was first revealed in, of all places, 1977s Star Wars novelization, Anakin will suffer horrific injuries after a run-in with some lava so itll be time for the black suit, helmet and wheezing.
Obi-Wan Kenobi-
Appears in: All episodes
Home Planet: Unknown
Road to Episode III: In Episode I, we meet a youthful, adventurous Kenobi who takes on mentoring role of his saline Master. Hes in his prime in Episode II, willing to hurl himself out of a skyscrapers window to chase an assassin. The Jedi will have his biggest moment of the entire trilogy in Episode III, which will see him take on his protégé; gone bad, Anakin Skywalker. Since Anakin ends up torched by molten lava, it appears that Kenobi wins, but then he has gone to go hide in the desert for 20 years.
Luke Skywalker-
Appears in: Episode III, (as a baby), IV, V, and VI
Home Planet: Tatooine
Road to Episode III: Lukes mom, Pademe Amidala, is pregnant with him and his twin sister, Leia, in the new movie. Thanks to the original trilogy, we know that after Pademe gives birth, the babies are hidden from their father. Sticking Luke on Anakins home planet of Tatooine hardly seems like a good way to conceal him, but it seems to have worked.
Han Solo-
Appears in: Episodes IV-VI
Home Planet: Corellia
Road to Episode III: Unless a Death Star-sized surprise is in the works, Han Solo wont appear in Episode III (Hes a toddler during the movies time period, anyway). But maybe well get to see some clues to how the smuggler got together with hi furry friend Chewbacca. Then again, maybe not.
Chewbacca-
Appears in: Episodes III-VI
Home Planet: Kashyyyk
Road to Episode III: After being absent from the first two prequels, Chewbacca will appear in Episode III, and well get to see him for the first time on his tree-covered home planet of Kashyyyk. Well at least the first time in a movie: Kashyyyk made its first appearance in 1978s Star Wars Holiday Special on CBS. In Revenge of the Sith, the planet will be the site of a major battle, with hundreds of Wookiees preparing for war. Do the bad guys know youre always supposed to let the Wookiee win?
Yoda-
Appears in: Episodes I, II, III, V and VI
Home Planet: Unknown/Lived on Coruscant and Dagobah
Road to Episode III: We know that Yoda will once again do battle in Revenge of the Sith (Yay!). Its also clear that the backwards-talking green wizard will have to go from comfortable existence as the leader of the Jedi Council and tutor of dozens of little Jedi to living in a swamp on a snake-filled planet.
Count Dooku-
Appears in: Episodes II and III
Home Planet: Serenno
Road to Episode III: In Episode II, we learned that the powerful former Jedi Count Dooku, also known by the Sith name of Darth Tyranus, is in league with the evil mastermind Darth Sidious. To help Sidious to tear apart the Republic, Count Dooku led the Separatist movement that sparked the Clone Wars. That conflict will draw to an end in Episode III, and Count Dooku will almost certainly be involved. We can expect to see him in another light saber duel like the on he had with Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda.
Princess Leia Organa-
Appears in: Episode III, (as a baby), IV, V, and VI
Home Planet: Alderaan
Road to Episode III: Leias mom, Pademe Amidala, is pregnant with her and her twin brother, Luke, in the new movie. Thanks to the original trilogy, we know that after Pademe gives birth, the babies are hidden from their father Luke ends up on Tatooine with his aunt and his uncle, while Leia lands with royal adoptive parents in Alderaan hence the princess title. Maybe will get to see how those choices are made, or maybe Yoda flipped a coin.
Padme Amidala-
Appears in: Episodes I-III
Home Planet: Naboo
Road to Episode III: Well likely see a pregnant Pademe give birth in Episode III. But one of the films burning questions is weather shell survive to its end; she obviously wasnt around by the time of the original trilogy. Still, in Return of the Jedi, her daughter Leia seems to be have some distant memory of her: She was very beautiful. Kind but
sad.
C-3PO-
Appears in: All episodes
Home Planet: Tatooine
Road to Episode III: Its a little-noted fact that thanks to Episode I, we now know that C-3PO was actually built by Darth Vader, back when the Sith Lord was just inno |
