What's up in the news

Please write any comments on these news stories in the guestbook! The voting for the new pope had already began. There was also an extensive search for spy gadgets that could of listened in on the voting. Luckily, none was reportedly found. No one knows how long this voting will take.

Writing Workshop

Every week I update this section. If you follow these steps, you may eventually write a completed novel. So... step one! Your first assignment is to go online and research what a story is, and what the elements of a story are. Also check for the various genres. Please type your answer in the guestbook. We will go over this next week! Step 2: A story is an acedote told by someone or something. It could be real or fictional. An genre is a type of story. Such as romance, horror, non-fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, mystery or others. The basic elements of a story are the plot, (what happens in the story), the setting, (where it takes place), the characters, (the people in the story), the mood, (what sort of attitude the story is written in), and the theme, (the moral). Now before we begin writing a story, we need an idea for one. So, this week look into the writing process especially the prewriting stage. In our next step, we will brainstorm for ideas!
