Welcome dear visitors. If you are one of the people who came across this site who has sleeping problems, you hit the right place! I will tell you all about good qualities and essentials of a good night's sleep. Now, notice - please don't sit on the computer hours after you read this - it'll only worsten your vision and your sleep! Here are 10 advices for a better sleep. Remember, they are a long process, so please don't expect to fall asleep like a hungry pup!
1. Very helpful to take a 15-20 minute bath at least 40 minutes before you go to bed. I am not an expert or a doctor, but I strongly reccomend (from my own experiences) that after a nice hot bath you will feel most relaxed - so don't waste time and loose your sleepiness! Put some bath oil in the running water until it bubbles. Very essential oils include rose petal, lavender and chamomile. They soothe and calm your body and prepare it for rest.
2. Exercise during the day. It will energize you well, but from being so energized earlier - your body will automatically tire closer to evening. When you feel tired, please do not disturb that calmness - if you get up and do something you will no longer feel sleepy.
3. Do not eat heavy foods before bedtime. A very good dinner includes a nice warm glass of milk or yogurt, a cup of oatmeal and a cookie. Although it does not sound like a proper meal, it still has all the vitamins you need that you probably haven't taken during the day.
4. Stay away from activities that require alertness or take away lots of energy right before bed. You must be calm and relaxed at least an hour before sleep.
5. This may sound "duh", but - do not drink coffee before bed. Of course as you all know, coffee has coffeine! (duh). That is why we drink it when we get up - to wake up! So drinking it at night will wake you up and you will not be able to go to sleep for hours. This is true, indeed.
6. Do your favorite activities that usually put you into a relaxed mode. For some people, it is helpful if they read a book, or watch TV or spend quiet quality time with their family.
7. As a matter of fact, you may not know this. Color influences sleep very dramatically. Have you ever slept with a bight red blanket over yourself, and a red pillow under your head? Or how about - red walls or carpet? Especially RED color interferes with sleep. It will be hard to concentrate on relaxation. Instead, bright colors, like, lime or electric yellow will hurt your eyes when they are open. Even if they are closed, your brain still thinks: "okay, the walls are electric blue - i will not go to sleep". The best clolors to have in your bedroom are white, sky blue, baby pink, beige, salmon and....... |
