..._/)...
The basic idea is to take off eight months and make the complete loop of the caribbean (plan A) or down the eastern shore of South America and back up the islands. NY to Bermuda to US Virgin Islands or do the Carib 1500..._/)... (Virginia to Virgin Gorda (at least this is what they are doing in 1999))to Leeward Islands to Windard Islands to Trinidad. Then either south to Guyana,Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil(Plan B) or west accross Venezuela and the ABC islands to Columbia, Panama, etc. Maybe all the way to Belize before sailing over to the Cayman Islands, Jamaca, (Cuba???)and Puerto Rico to the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. People would join for different parts of the trip and/or anyone could do the whole thing.

The boat is a Pearson 40 which sleeps 7. Sleeping 7 is fine for a weekend but is too cowded for any longer (especially with supplies). The ideal crew is about 4 or 5. When we are in port, more could be packed in. Mighty Melissa has a self steering vane so she could be handled by a single person. This is going to be a leisurely trip and time pressures will defer to the weather.

For a map and description of each port of call, go to the _/) and click on those which interest you. Or go to "links" for more possibilities. There may be an additional link if you click on the flag at the top of each page or a _/). You never know. The best link I have found for the whole caribbean is... _/)...It advertises that it has about 3200 pages.

While this site is aimed at information on different island we will visit, there is another site ...Lew-Hill.com... which has more detail and information.
