| BENEFITS After graduation and commissioning, monthly salary increases to $2,083.00 and at the end of a six month probationary period, salary increases to $2,345.00 monthly. Following one year of successful commissioned service, salary is raised to $2,607.00 monthly. State troopers receive additional hazardous duty pay for each year of service to 30 years. They are also granted a monthly uniform cleaning allowance and receive travel expenses when away from their station. Uniforms, vehicles, weapons, ammunition, and related equipment are furnished. Group life and hospitalization are paid for employee, and dependent coverage is available at reasonable rates. Troopers participate in the Employees Retirement System of Texas and are covered by Workers' Compensation Vacation, holidays and sick leave are as provided for all State employees. |
