Bonjour! After playing Pokemon Silve and Gold, I have pretty muuch used every new pokemon out there. I have prepared a Top 10 list for all of you, this should help you with your game. Please note that some of the old pokemon have improved a lot, and will be needed. I am nont counting some of the old pokemon like Mewtwo, Mew, etc. because you cant get them unless you trade.
Here it goes:
Number 10: Haganeeru (ground/steel) Reasons: This guy is petty tough, with his max defense of 498 (take that Cloyster!) he can take a serious beating while giving one.
Number 9: Hitmonlee (fighting)
Reasons: Hitmonlee learns some new moves that will help him. For example, Gaze into someones mind will make Hitmonlees accuracy 100%. Also, Star Kick is a prety powerful fighitng move. Fighting pokemon WILL be used a lot in G/S because steel and evil are weak to fghitng. Plus, the old guys with weakness to fighting.
Number 8: Denryu (electric)
Reasons: Unlike most electric pokemon, Denryu has lots of HP and can learn a wide variety of moves. It also has very nice stats.
Number 7: Suikun (water)
Reasons: Suikun has the best stats a water pokemon can have. Also, Mirror Coat helps Suikun, as it pays back the damage dealt by special attacks... doubled!
Number 6: Bakufuun (fire)
Reasons: Bakufuun is pretty much the best fire pokemon. Heruga and Houou scored higher because of their stats. Anyway, Bakufuun has great stats. but the real catch is its ability to learn grass and electric moves... That help Bakufuun beat water pokemon. The best move set for Bakufuun would be: flamethrower, clear skies, earthquake, thunder punch/solar beam
Number 5: Heruga (evil/fire)
Reasons: Heruga is THE Mewtwo killer. With its immunity to psychic attacks, and Crunch... (the strongest evil attack) it can take on virtually any psychic pokemon.
Number 4: Houou (flying/fire)
Reasons: If Houou scored this high, its because of its excellent stats. Fire/flying is a lame combination, but since fire is resistant to ice in G/S, ice deals normal damage instead of being super effective. Houous signature move; Holy Fire/Divine fire/Southern Blaze/Whatever you want to call it...( I call it Holy Fire) is a good fire attack. While its accuracy is 95%, it has a 50% chance of burning. That is AWESOME!
Number 3: Bangirasu (rock/evil)
Reasons: This is an OUTSTANDING pokemon. It can beat mewtwo, lugia, and houou! It scored 3rd because of its stats, but, if you have the time to train yogirasu, DO IT!
Number 2: Kingudora (water/dragon)
Reasons: Kingudora is the evolved form of Seadra. But.... look at it! Water/dragon is the best combination a pokemon can have! Why? Becuase dragon is weak to ice... and water is resistant to ice, that results in normal damage from ice. Water is weak to electric and grass, dragon is resistant to both, that means, normal damage. Kingudoras ONLY weakness is dragon. There are two new dragon attacks that dont do fixed damage: Tornado and Imperial Wrath. Those attacks HURT Kingudora. so keep him away from the Dragon stuff.
Number 1: Lugia (psychic/flying)
Reasons: No... I did not nominate Lugia because I am nicknamed Lugia. I nominated Lugia because of its excellent base stats and moves set. It can learn virtually everything! I am not saying that Lugia is invincible though... Some of the pokemon on this list can beat it. IN fact, if you dont have a Masterball... I used 43 Ultra Balls to catch it. Anyway, lugia can take down most pokemon in one shot.
An interesting fight would be Lugia vs. Mewtwo.. Amnesia made Mewtwo win in red/blue/yellow, but amnesia raises special defense only in G/S. And Lugias aero blast is a physical attack...
The worst pokemon in G/S:
1. Hanekko (grass)
Reasons: Hannekko learns pretty lame attacks, and has lower stats than Magikarp!
2. Himanattsu (grass)
Reasons: Same as Hanekko. |
