What Is SSI? - It stands for Server Side Includes, I don't really know what that means, but I know what it does. A lot of good sites use SSI, because it's a good way to add a link to your "Sidebars" without having to go through everypage and add it. I use SSI and it saved me a lot of hours of work. Not all servers support SSI such as angelfire, xoom, and geocities. I only know of 1 free server that supports it. and that's Virtualave.net

More Help - If your using SSI you must name the pages with the ssi code ".shtml" and the ssi page itself ".html" this is for some unknown reason. If you don't already know, all my pages at Pikachuu.com are ".shtml" pages, it's because I use ssi. Not all servers need to be ".shtml" such as Fairgame.net. Remember, you have to name the pages with the ssi code "NAME_OF_PAGE.shtml" and the ssi page itself "URL_OF_PAGE.html" if you don't name the ssi page. |
