Features:

Pokemon Stadium has many new and exciting features that will add more fun to the Pokemon series. All 152 Pokemon will be able to duke it out in the battle arena, with you, their loyal trainer, at the ring side shouting out commands.
Every technique is available in this game, and are in full 3-D polygonal animation. Like the GameBoy games, Pokemon Stadium is turn-based. The most exciting feature by far is the ability to plug your Gameboy into the N64 System and transfer Pokemon! You will be able to use your favorite Pokemon, complete with its TMs and it's experience level. The Transfer Pak already comes *free* with Pokemon stadium, but can be bought at a retailer for approximately 19.95. The actual inserting of the cartridge is quite simple! A standard GameBoy cartridge slides into a slot in the Transfer Pak. The Transfer Pak then plugs into the N64 Controller slot that is also used by the Controller Pak and the Rumble Pak
If you do not own a GameBoy or any of the previous Pokemon titles on the GameBoy, you can still play the game. There are "rentable" Pokemon, which you can simply select, but you have to beat that Pokemon to use it. Unlike all of the other Pokemon games (Red, Blue, and Yellow) it has been confirmed by Nintendo that Mew will be playable in this game! You must beat Mew to have it as a "rentable" Pokemon.
A four-player tournament or playing against an AI opponent is available in Stadium. Mini games are also featured, so you can expect this game will keep you busy for a long time. Playing the mini-games with your Pokemon will also give it experience.
Stadiums:

Pokemon Lab: Professor Oak's laboratory is the place to be for getting your Pokémon in order. Here's where you can bring all the Pokémon and special items from your Game Boy into the Stadium Game Pak, view them in 3-D and read all their stats. If a friend has a second Transfer Pak, Professor Oak will even let you swap Pokémon with your pals! GameBoy Tower: You can play your Pokémon Red, Blue or Yellow on a TV by plugging it into the Transfer Pak, then going to GameBoy Tower.

Free Battle: Now that your Pokémon are all aboard, here's a place where up to four can play at once, duking it out. Only two Pokémon fight at a time, so if three or four friends play, the battle will be tag-team style.

Stadium: Under the sparkling green dome, you compete for the Pika, Petit, Pok?and, finally, the "anything goes" Prime Cup. The Pika Cup has a per-Pokémon level limit of 20 and a three-Pokémon level total of 50. The Petit Cup only allows unevolved Pokémon under 6 feet 8 inch, weighing less than 44 pounds and between levels 25 and 30. Pokémon in the Poke Cup must have an individual level of 50 to 55, with a total level limit of 155 for all three. Any Pokémon, including the mythical Mew, can compete in the Prime Cup.

Gym Leader Castle: High on a hill outside of town stands the grim and foreboding Gym Leader Castle. Here, eight supremely confident Gym Leaders and their minions are itching to take on all comers. Run this gauntlet and then the fun really begins as you take on the cream of Stadium's trainers. Gym Leader Castle: Win a Cup or demolish your opponents in the Gym Leader Castle and you'll find glorious trophies celebrating your triumphs.

Kids' Club: Sometimes Pokémon just want to have fun. In the Kids' Club, join cute Pokémon (Pikachu, Magicarp, Lickitung, Ekans, Clefairy and more!) in nine minigames.
