#1-I Choose You!- Ash Ketchum, a boy from Pallet town, just turned 10. Ash is allowed to begin his quest as a Pokemon master. He can choose Bulbasaur, Charamder or Squirtle from Professor Oak, as his first Pokemon. Ash sleeps in, and gets to Oak's lab late. All the Pokemon are gone, but to Ash's luck, Pikachu, an Electric mouse Pokemon is still left. Ash gets his pokeballs and pokedex, and sets out on his journey. Pikachu is making things hard for Ash, because he doesn't like him. Pikachu will not follow Ash's directions, so Ash trys to catch a wild Pidgey by himself, to no evail. Suddenly, by accident, Ash hit a Spearow by accident on the head with a stone. The Spearow attacks Ash and Pikachu, until Pikachu shocks it. More Spearow come, and Ash and Pikachu get hurt. They run until they come across a girl(Misty) who tells them to go to a Pokemon center. Ash steals her bike and goes. He crashes up the road, and Pikachu is badly hurt. Pikachu, learns Ash is nice, and creates a giant thunder blast that gets rid of all the Spearows. In the morning, Ash and Pikachu see a beautiful, golden bird flying over the rainbow. And so begins a great friendship, and an exciting adventure.

#2-Pokemon Showdown!-Ash and Pikachu, weak from the battle with the Spearows, rush to the Viridian city Pokemon center. There, Nurse Joy treats Pikachu in Intensive Care. Meanwhile, Ash talks to Professor Oak, who asks him how he's doing, and tells him that there was no such thing as the golden bird he saw. Ash also meets Misty, the girl who's bike he ruined. She yells at him until Team Rocket, a notorious gang who steals Pokemon, bursts in. They introduce themselves, and go into battle. Pikachu wakes up, and gets the other Pikachus in the center to help him blast away team rocket. Ash, Misty, and Pikachu set off agiain on their adventure through the Viridian Forest. Ash finds a Caterpie, and throws a pokeball, trying to catch it...

#3-Ash catches a Pokemon!-The pokeball Ash threw at the Caterpie opens up, and captures Caterpie, Ash's first caught Pokemon. Misty runs off, because she is scared of Caterpie, but Caterpie likes Misty. Misty insists she only follows Ash because of her bike. They settle down, and camp out the night. During the night, Caterpie dreams of evolving into a Butterfree. Everyone is awakened by Misty's loud scream as she sees Caterpie next to her. Suddenly, a Pidgeotto flys down. Ash automatically throws a Pokeball, but learns you have to weaken a Pokemon first. He sends out Caterpie, and Caterpie loses very badly. He then sends Pikachu, who toasts Pidgeotto. Ash then catches him. Ash learns that Pokemon battling is all about strategy, and sending out Caterpie was a bad idea. Then, all of a Sudden, Team Rocket pops in. They claim that Pikachu is extra strong for a Pikachu, and they want to catch him. They send out Koffing, and Ekans, and Ash sends out Pikachu, but he gets slimed by Koffing, and can't fight. He Then sends out Pidgeotto, and loses. Then, Caterpie goes out, and sprays Koffing and Ekans with Sting shot. He wins, and then evolves into Metapod. Misty learns that Ash really does care about Pokemon.

#4-Challenge of the Samurai!-Ash comes across a Weedle in the forest, and weakens it with Pidgeotto. He is about to catch Weedle, but a mysterious samurai pops out and challenges Ash to battle. Weedle runs away. Ash gets angry, and decides to battle. The Samurai (Samura) sends out Pinsir, and Ash sends Pidgeotto out. Pidgeotto loses, and Ash sends out Metapod. The Metapod hardens, and Breaks Pinsir's claws. Samura sends out Metapod, and they both sit there, hardening. Meanwhil, Team Rocket is going through the forest caustiously, so they don't run into any Beedrill. Ash and Samura keep standing there, making Metapod harden, until a swarm of Beedrill come and take Ash's Metapod. They group retreat to Samura's cabin in the woods. They stay there the night, while Ash misses his Metapod. The next morning, Ash goes to the Beedrill's nest, and gets Metapod, While Team Rocket barges in. The Beedrill attack Team Rocket, while Ash grabs Metapod. He runs, and trips as a Beedrill comes for him. He talks to Metapod, and Metapod likes Ash again, and hits the Beedrill. Metapod then evolves into Butterfree, and puts everyone to sleep with sleep powder. Ash makes friends with Samura, and continues on his quest.

#5-Showdown in Pewter City!-Ash, Misty, and Pikachu arive in Pewter city, a city of rock. Ash goes to the Pokemon center, and gets his pokemon revitalized. He then sees a poster saying to fight the Pokemon leage, he needs to collect badges by beating trainers. He goes to Pewter city's gym led by Brock. Ash sends out Pikachu, while Brock sends out Onix. Pikachu trys his electric attack, but it does not work. Onix squeezes Pikachu, and Ash stops the match. Ash and Pikachu are taken to a mans's house, who shows them that Brock can not leave the city because he has 10 little brothers and sisters to watch. The man then takes Ash to a place where he can supercharge Pikachu. Pikachu gets supercharged at the hydro-electric plant, and then he and Ash head to the gym. They battle and Brock sends out Geodude. Pikachu frys that, and Brock sends out Onix. Onix is hurt by Pikachu's thunder, but not enough. Onix squeezes Pikachu and Brock stops the match. Pikachu's thunder makes the sprinklers go off, and Onix falls to the ground because Rock pokemon are weak against water. Ash doesn't use Pikachu to shock Brocks injured Onix. Instead, he leaves the gym. Brock goes to Ash later and gives the boulder badge to him for being kind to Pokemon. The myterious man shows up and tells Brock he is his Father and that Brock can go off with Ash, while he watches the kids. Brock agrees and joins Ash on his adventure to become a Pokemon master.
