| Welcome to Transfiguration 1st years! Make sure you do all the homework assignments in order and as accurately as you can. When you know the answer to the homework go to the page called homework form and fill out the form to get credit for your homework. You gain one galleon everytime you answer a homework correctly. If you are having trouble with the homework go to the library under other and it will be sure to help you. Professor Padfoot Day 1 Lesson: Remember everyone that Transfiguration is one of the most dangerous classes you will take at Hogwarts. So try to do everything I tell you to. The first lesson I will teach you is how to turn a match into a needle. Remember matches can start fires so be very careful with this match. Now that you have your match, take out your wand. Now point it at the match and shout transfigure. If it doesn't work, think about needles. Think about them very much, about their shape, their color, their texture and any other thing about them and then shout transfigure and it should work. Homework: Tell me how many times it took you to turn the match into a needle. Day 2 Lesson: Very good job on the last project, today you can have a break. Homework: There's no homework, but you can still fill out the form and get a galleon and 5 house points. Day 3 Lesson: Okay, now that we're well rested we will do a harder project. Today we will turn a button into a ball. Shout Transfigure at the button and think of balls. Homework: How many times did it take you to turn the button into a ball? Day 4 Lesson: Today we're turning a grape into an orange. Shout transfigure at the grape and think of oranges. Homework: How many times did it take you to turn the grape into an orange? Day 5 Lesson: Now we will turn a block into a sandwhich. Shout transfigure and think of your sandwhich, what kind is it? Homework: How many times did it take you? Did you get the right kind of sanwhich? When you have turned in all 5 of the homework assignments take this exam. You must answer at least 3 of the 4 questions correctly to pass it. You will be notified whether you pass or fail. If you fail you must retake the exam. If you pass you have completed your first year of Transfiguration and once you pass all of your other classes you will be sent a letter with the next years courses you can take and you will again have to take at least 3 classes.
