The Portuguese American Club of Lawrence hopes everyone had a great fun-filled Carnival weekend!! The Lawrence celebration was a success, hosting many dancas from communities who made the trip in the tough weather to perform. The traditional Lawrence danca was also a success, humoring and pleasing the home and away crowds.

Local young star Dave deMelo and his band Diamond, performed for an opening show for Robert Leal. Diamond continued to deliver a spectacular show and the Portuguese American Club of Lawrences wishes to acknowledge the wonderful work they have dedicated for so many years and to still continue to represent Lawrence . . . . ! ! ! ! The Portuguese Championship League is thriving with competition. The league is almost 3/4's through and is experiencing great matches. Next up are: P. Ferreira vs. Boavista. . Belenenses vs. Benfica . . . Sporting vs. Aves . . . V. Guimaraes vs. F.C. Porto . . . . . The Portuguese indoor soccer teams finished the second session with the Portuguese Boys Team wining the championship back to back. Play-off results were: 1st leg (PAC) 2-3, 1st leg (P. Boys) 7-0 2nd legFinal (P. Boys) 8-3
PAC Lawrence team had a tough loss which eliminated them from the final, but it was hard fought
Portuguese Boys team advanced with no problem dominating both sessions, and representing the Portuguese Pride !!!!
