Welcome to the Modernaire Motel web page. We are your home away from home located here in historical York, Pennsylvania. Our motel is located in East York at the corner of Mt. Zion Road and East Market Street, or Rt. 24 and Rt. 462.
The motel has been in the family for over twenty-five years and is now owned and operated by Bob and Debbie Straw. Since we are family oriented, we offer a picnic area with a grill and tables right next to our in-ground heated pool. We also have a fenced in play area for the kids.
THE LODGE
We offer you our lodge which contains nine rooms that are all singles. The lodge was built in 1949 and was York's first motel. Up to that time, York only had hotels. The lodge has nine air conditioned rooms in a hotel setting. All the rooms have their own showers and baths, cable tv and comfortable furnishings. The lodge also serves as Bob and Deb's living quarters and you can join them in the large lobby for coffee and tea, which is always hot. The family pets are usually laying in front of the fireplace and are there to greet you. They are Rebel and Pretzel the Straw's two friendly rottweilers. ROOM RATES: $22 - $27 plus tax.
THE MOTEL
The twelve motel units are either singles or doubles and are nice large rooms with full baths and all the comforts of home. They have cable tv and are air conditioned for your summer comfort. You can park right in front of your room. We also offer non-smoking rooms.ROOM RATES: Singles are $27 - $32 plus tax, Doubles are $34 - $47 plus tax.
THE AREA
There are nine resturants nearby which offer a choice of foods from steaks and seafood to chinese. Breakfest is no problem from full meals to donut shops, all nearby and many open 24 hours for those early starts. The next time you want to visit Baltimore or Hershey, Lancaster or Gettysburg, come stay with us. We're located right in the middle of all these locations.You'll find it very affordable with lots of hospitality.
