Double battles
There are 2 types of double battles you can get yourself into. One is like the ones on Ruby/Sapphire where you battle twins/SR & JR/Old Couple/Young Couple. The other is a mixed double battle where you are against either the same type, or 2 different types of Trainers (eg. a Psychic and a Hiker/a Swimmer(Male) and a Swimmer(Male)/a Swimmer(Male) and a Swimmer(Female)). Or a TRUE double battle where you can team up with another trainer (like Battle Tower (explained further on)). The only one you are in besides Battle Tower is with Steven in Mossdeep Space Center where you fight Maxie (for those who don't know who Maxie is, he's the Leader of Team Magma) and one of his Admins. You cannot control the other person's Pokemon or switch with one of the other person's Pokemon.
Battle Tents
Battle Tents are tents in which you are prepared for a new feature of Pokemon Emerald-the Battle Frontier. Battle Frontier has 7 different challenges. They are Battle Pike, Battle Tower, Battle Pyramid, Battle Factory, Battle Dome, Battle Arena and Battle Palace(more info on Battle Frontier down the page). Each challenge is different and when you win each, you recieve a prize.BATTLE TENT SLATEPORT SITE (instead, all the contests are at Lilycove where the Master Rank was in Ruby/Sapphire) is where you rent 3 Pokemon from a selection of 6 to battle with. You don't really know what moves they know or what their ability is except for when you check 'Summary'. This helps you decide which Pokemon to pick. BATTLE TENT VERDANTURF SITE is where you have no command whatsoever against your Pokemon. They just use whichever attack suits them. BATTLE TENT FALLARBOR SITE is where you battle 3 trainers consecutively like a small tournament.
Battle Frontier, Scott and your apprentice.
Before you ask who Scott is, you find out after you beat the Pokemon League, the owner of a new theme park called Battle Frontier. This park has a wide range of areas including Artisan Cave (where you find wild Smeargle) and a Sudowoodo lvl40(only available ONCE!!!!!) and small challenges in different parts of the park. These are Battle Tower, Battle Factory, Battle Dome, Battle Arena, Battle Palace, Battle Pike and Battle Pyramid. BATTLE FACTORY is like the Slateport Battle Tent, BATTLE ARENA is like Fallarbor Battle Tent, BATTLE PALACE is like the Verdanturf Battle Tent, BATTLE TOWER is nearly the same as in Ruby/Sapphire, except that you can chose double battle;single battle; multi battle or True double battles, BATTLE PIKE is a luck tester (choose one of 3 paths. The woman between the right and the center paths will help you make your choice), BATTLE PYRAMID is a challenge where your regular bag is changed to a single compartmented 'Battle Bag', much like the bag used in Red/Blue/Yellow and you have to navigate 7 darkened floors. Whenever you beat a wild pokemon or one of 8 trainers on each floor, it gets brighter. All you need to do is find the blue Warp Tile and you get warped up to the next floor where it returns to the blackness it was at first on floor 1. And finally, BATTLE DOME is a small tournament where you fight 4 trainers and you have to win to get through to the next round. When you beat each challenge, you are awarded with BATTLE POINTS (you can get 3 free ones from Scott when you first get there. Just go to the house near Battle Tower with a wooden door and talk to him) which you can exchange in the Battle Point exchange booth, or get taught a move by old ladies for a certain number of Battle Points. When you first enter the Battle Tower, you should notice that on the far left of the tower is a boy. Talk to him and he will ask you a question and you answer it. He then goes off and returns the next day with another one. Sometimes he will battle you in Battle Tower single battle or team up with you in a true double battle to see your strategy.

New Pokenav function
There is a new Pokenav (Pokemon Navigator for those who haven't come across one before) feature replaces the 'Trainers eyes' function in the Ruby/Sapphire version. The new feature is 'Match Call'. It works in a similar way to the Pokegear used in Gold/Silver/Crystal where you register trainers in it and they can call you to say congratulations for an achievement or to say that they just won/lost a battle. You also register Gym Leaders who, after you beat the Elite 4 (you register them in your Match Call too) can battle you again, but with Kanto/Johto Pokemon and it switches from a single battle to a double battle (except for Tate & Liza).
All 3 Super Pokemon Catchable!
In Pokemon Emerald, you can catch all 3 Super Pokemon (Rayquaza, Kyogre and Groudon), but you can catch Rayquaza before you beat the League and the other 2 afterwards. You get Rayquaza at the top of Sky Pillar again (just east of Pacifidlog Town) but this time, you get Kyogre in the Marine Cave and Groudon in the Terra Cave. After you beat the Elite 4, go to the Weather Institute where you battled Team Aqua and go upstairs and talk to the scientist standing at the computer on the far left. He will either tell you that he has located a really heavy downpour on a certain route... (for Kyogre) or intense heat on route... (for Groudon). The entrace to Terra Cave is in a mountainside (on route 118 (near secret base tree and near youngster and Aroma Lady Rose), 115 (near Expert Timothy) or 114 (just up the first set of steps to go up to Meteor Falls from Fallarbor Town) and you'll need HM08 DIVE to reach Kyogre in Marine Cave. It appears on routes 105, 129, 127 and 128. All 3 Supers are level 70, so be prepared!!!
the Blend Master
After you defeat the Elite 4, from time to time, a guy called the 'Blend Master' appears at Lilycove contest hall. He is (and this is me saying this) the BEST GUY IN THE GAME!!! He is nearly impossible to beat. He gets a direct hit every time the arrow reaches his. The pokeblocks you make with him are great! The best I got was level 55, feel 45 Gold block. He uses pokeblocks 31-45. He can help you get your contest star for your Trainer card (see R and S Trainer Stars for more details).
The Regis
Hoenn pokedex numbers 193-195, the Regis aren't that easy to obtain. You first need to beat the Elite 4, then go to Pacifidlog Town (if you haven't already been there, you surf down from Ever Grande City and then left until you get to it). Make sure that you have a pokemon that knows dive, surf and dig. You also need to have a Wailord and a Relicanth. You surf off the town and go right to the bottom BEFORE you go onto the strong current. When you hit land, you stay as close to the middle of the strong current as you can. When you reach a bit of land separating routes 133 and 134, go 4 steps down from the far left top. Then surf on the current and you should reach a dive area (if you don't make it, fly to Pacifidlog and try again). Dive and go through the cave entrance. Surf down until you reach a braille pad. It says 'Go up here'. Use Dive or press the 'B' button. If you aren't directly infront of the braille, you will return to the dive spot. If that does happen dive again and make sure you are infront of the braille pad. When you use Dive again, you will be in a chamber. Go up to another set of braille pads on the top wall (there are three) and step infront of the middle one. Use Dig. A hole will appear. Go through and you will be in another chamber. Go to the top wall where there is another set of 3 braille pads. Put Wailord on the left of your party and Relicanth at the bottom. If you have not done this, or don't have a Relicanth or Wailord, Wailmer evolves at level 40 and you can catch Relicanth in the underwater grass next to Sootopolis (it is there). Then you press 'A' at the middle pad and you will trigger a small earthquake. Then you will here 3 clicks. This is the caves of the Regi opening. You then use Dig again to return underwater at the braille pad reading 'Go up here'. Go to either side of it or below it and press 'B'. You will return to the Dive spot again. Then go to Rustboro and buy some Timer Balls (you'll need them) and then go to the Pokemon League shop and buy Ultra Balls. For Regirock, make sure you have a pokemon that knows Rock Smash. Fly to Lavaridge town and go into the desert. Go to the bottom of the desert and you'll see a chamber with six large rocks around it. There will be a small hole in the central rock. Go in. You are now in a chamber with 3 braille pads on the top wall. Go to the middle one and go down, down, left, left and use Rock Smash. The middle braille pad will open up and when you go through, you will be at Regirock. SAVE IT BEFORE YOU BATTLE IT! If you don't save it and you accidentally run or defeat it, you'll never get another shot at it. Regirock is at level 40 and knows Curse, Superpower, Ancientpower and Rock Throw. Also get a pokemon that knows False Swipe. Throw Ultra Balls when you have used Flase Swipe (can leave with 1hp) of he is down in the red until he is caught. After about 40 rounds of Ultra Balls, use a few Timer Balls and he should be caught in the end. If not, press 'A', 'B', 'Start' and 'Select' all at the same time. This restarts your game to where you last saved it (hopefully infront of Regirock!). For Regice, you need to Fly to Dewford or Petalburg (whichever) and surf up (Dewford) or down from the beach (Petalburg) until you see land on the left with a hiker on it. Do left past that and surf up until you reach an island with a rock assembly like Regirock's chamber. To open the chamber, you must run clockwise alongside the wall without hitting it or you'll have to start over. Do one lap and the chamber will open. SAVE THE GAME IN FRONT OF REGICE! Then battle him using the same technique as Regirock (see above). If you do not have the right requirements, switch off and go and get them. Regice knows Curse, Superpower, Ancientpower and Icy Wind and is level 40. For Registeel, you need a pokemon that knows Flash. Go to Fortree or Lilycove and walk left (Lilycove) or down (Fortree) until you reach the girl who gives you Mago Berries or Iapapa berries depending on which game you're playing on. Go up the stairs just up from her and go through the grass, past the Ninja Boy (behind his tree cloak) and the Ruin Maniac near a similar rock formation to Regice and Regirock. Go into the chamber and go to the middle and use Flash. The chamber will open and SAVE THE GAME INFRONT OF REGISTEEL! Registeel is level 40 and knows Metal Claw, Ancientpower, Superpower and Curse. Use the same technique as you did for Regirock and Regice. If you do not have the right things, switch off and on again and go and buy the right things (Timer Balls, Ultra Balls and Revives).

CONGRATULATIONS. YOU HAVE CAUGHT THE REGIS.

An ideal pokemon for False Swipe is either Sceptile, Zangoose or Ninjask.
