The New Testament deals with sexual relations outside of marriage. There are two different types of sexual relations that can occur outside of the marriage contract; adultery and homosexuality. Adultery, as defined by the Hutchinson Encyclopedia, is voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person other than his or her legal partner. Jesus and his disciples address the issue of adultery several times in the New Testament, preaching against it and showing those who have committed it how to get back on track. Homosexuality, as defined by dictionary.com, is the sexual activity with another of the same sex. In the New Testament, homosexuality is strictly forbidden to receive the kingdom of God. |
