| Dear Friends, I would like to share with you an interesting side of the Native American culture, that is the " Love Flute" as its name reflects. The Native Americans say that the flute came into their lives, like a gift from the angels. This flute was to be used only when the young men would court their loved-ones. Its soft low tone warms the heart, and its melodious "voice" is always welcome to the ear. Culturally it is accompanied by the "heartbeat drum"- birds, ocean winds. etc... Now, the flute is appreciated by millions of people all across the world, and is even featured playing in full-on orchestral arrangements. The Love Flute can play many notes by simply blowing one breath at a time. This encourages the will to learn. Due to the importance of a good ansemble, I specifically tune each flute to concert pitch. The flute will keep in tune unless the wood is altered. As a luthier who has travelled across America, I have learned how to recreate them myself, and playing one is always a pleasure.
