Next summer you will find that comic book capers are taking over our cinemas. Filming recently began in Sydney.
Christopher Reeve is the only Clark Kent for most people, so newcomer Brandon Routh has a lot to live up to. Even though Nicolas Cage was originally up for the part, director Bryan Singer was keen to cast an unknown actor.
There's no Superman without Lois Lane! The very gorgeous Kate Bosworth takes on the role of Superman's love interest. Kate fought off Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson and Claire Danes for the role and sacrificed her blonde locks to make the transformation into Ms Lane.
Aside from The Usual Suspects, Bryan Singer is best known for directing the X-Men movies, so he's no stranger to adapting comic-book themes for the big screen. Fans of the original films should not be disappointed - Singer intends to keep Superman classic.

James Marsden, who plays Lois Lane's love interest Richard White, has worked together with Bryan on X-Men. The film also stars Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, and Marlon Brando will make an appearance from beyond the grave in archive footage as Jor-El.
In the movie, Superman has been missing for six years and comes back to a world he doesn't recognise - one where Lex Luthor has risen to the heights of power. Will good overcome evil? You'll have to wait until summer 2006 to find out! |
