| LA FERRIERE consists of three child-friendly holiday properties and the principal property where the English owners live year round. Something Special We feel a gite holiday should be more than just a well-equipped holiday home and swimming pool. We aim to offer something for everyone. Children's Entertainment Young children will never be bored – we have a purpose-built play area and sand pit. For slightly older children there is table tennis or they can learn to play boules. Our top-quality, hard tennis court is available for all (complete with umpire’s chair!) and if you don’t wish to bring your own equipment, we have plenty for hire. Please see our separate page about tennis facilities. Something for the grown-ups Adults can enjoy evenings at “Le Flower”, our on-site wine bar. After a tiring day by the pool, relax during the warm summer evenings on the terrace with a chilled glass of local wine and maybe a snack, listen to music of your choice and, if the mood takes you, we can raise the tempo for some dancing. Minimise the chores For those who want the independence of self-catering but prefer to minimise the chores, we are on hand to help you. All the beds will be made up for your arrival and we provide all towels and tea towels. With a dishwasher in each gite, you won’t even have to do the washing up! To save you rushing to the supermarket on your drive down, we provide a small pack of essentials to get your holiday off to a stress-free start. Our welcome to you On your holiday, we understand that you may not want to cook every night, so we invite all our guests to join us for a welcome barbecue (during the high season) with our compliments. Enjoy a lie-in Not all our guests wish to get up early and fetch their bread from the local boulangerie, but we believe we have the best baker in the region. So we are happy to take your order for bread each evening and bring it to La Ferriere in the morning – it’s your holiday, enjoy a lie-in! Out and about In order to make the most of the beautiful countryside surrounding La Ferriere, why not hire one of our bicycles and see it at close range. There are easy routes for the less energetic, or you can be more adventurous and travel further afield – if you feel like a whole day out, we can supply a picnic for you and the family. If golf is your preferred sport, there is a small golf course about a mile away. Although the seaside is about an hour and a half drive away, there are a number of sandy river-beaches in close proximity to La Ferriere and there is canoeing nearby which is very popular in the summer months. If wet If all else fails or the weather lets us down, each gite has satellite TV connection, and video – bring your own Sky card and UK videos, or borrow one of our many and varied selection! Home Office We even have office facilities on site, so if you need to collect your e-mails from home or need any other secretarial services, we will be pleased to help you for a small additional charge. And finally We want you to remember your stay at Laferriere as the best French holiday you’ve ever had. Our home is on site and we work hard to make sure that all your needs are met. Whatever your holiday needs, we aim to offer the highest possible standards and are on site to help - all YOU need to do is ask. |
