The Vines have finally completed there second album and have revealed the title and tracklisting. 'Winning Days' will be released March 8th 2004 with first single 'Ride' preceding it Febuary 23rd. The best band in Britain sensationally reformed last night and played a small gig in Kent. On the same day Pete Doherty was released from prision the libertines reformed to play infront of 200 lucky fans. Pete had been jailed for breaking into fellow band member Carl Barats flat. Pete had been replaced to give himself time to get his self together but rumours were flying around that he had been sacked from the band. Carl had'nt see Pete since the courtcase. The Strokes have finally completed their long awaited second album. 'Room On Fire' is released October 21st in the UK and October 22nd in the US. The first single taken from the LP will be 12:51 and can now be downloaded from www.thestrokes.com. The Strokes were the band who started the new rock revolution with their superb first album 'Is This It'. More News Soon! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ January 16th 03 COBAINS GUITAR TO BE AUCTIONED Kurt Cobains black Fender Stratocaster is to be auctioned. The guitar played through the Nevermind tour is going under the hammer for around £15,000 and is rumoured to be sold for around £60,000. It is to be auctioned at the Cooper Owen Rock Legends Auction on February 20, alongside unheard recordings by John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger. The Clash split in the 1980s but were one of the most influential bands that decade. Many stars have paid tribute to Strummer, including band mate Geldoff, Tom Morello, and Moby. The Vines have been ordered to fly back to Australia for emergency rest after an "exhausted" Craig Nicholls snapped onstage at a show in Boston. They have cancelled their remaining Highly Evolved dates in Boston to fly home and rest because of there contant erratic behaviour. Nicholls and Mathews fell brawling into the audience at the Boston gig. A source told NME "Patrick broke a bass string during Aint No Room, and Nicholls just flipped out and lunged at him. The band flew home after playing a Chicago show on December 15th. More News soon! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ May 1st 02 METALLICA ENTER STUDIO...AGAIN Metallica today have gone back into the studio in California to complete there 11th long awaited album. James, Kirk and Lars are currently working on new songs. They still havent found a replacemnt Bass player yet but are still considering staying as a threesome. The album is due to be completed this September with a December 02/ January 03 release. Eminems long awaited thrid album "The Eminem Show" is out June 3rd worldwide. Slims thrid album has been co-produced with him and mentor Dr Dre. Sources tell us Eminem has changed his style and grown up but after listening to his new single "without me" on radio 1 i disagree. This week Eminem was talking to face magazine about his new album, he told them a big influence from Led Zeplin and Jimi Hendrix have helped his new style. James Hetfield is out of Rehab. The group postponed recording their new album while Hetfield entered a rehabilitation facility for "alcoholism and other addictions early this year. James commented:"My rough road has become smoother reading the show of support from the friends I've met through Metallica. Thank you. They move me deeply". The band had been working on new material over as a three-piece, following the departure of bassist Jason Newsted after 14 years. Work is expected to resume in the New Year. The lead Guitarist and song writer of the worlds most famous band lost his battle for Cancer last night at 9:30. Harrison died at a freinds home with his family by his side. A statement issued by his family reads: "He left this world as he lived in it, conscious of God, fearless of death, and at peace, surrounded by family and friends. He often said, "Everything else can wait but the search for God cannot wait, and love one another." The Offspring have recently finished recording a song called "Defy You" with producer Brendan O'Brien for the upcoming movie "Orange County". The movie by MTV Films stars Colin Hanks Tom Hanks son. Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst picked up 2 awards at the Mtv European Music Awards. Limp Bizkit won Best Band in the world and best web site. This was just what Fred needed to redeem himself from his pathetic contribution to the new "Whats going on?" Pop single. Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit continue to look for a new guitarist after the departure of Wes Borland. James Hetfield, Metallicas Guitars/Vocalist has entered a rehabilitation facility to undergo treatment for alcoholism and other addictions. More news soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ June 30th 01 NIRVANA AND COURTNEY LOVE IN LEGAL WRANGLE The last song recorded by NIRVANA frontman KURT COBAIN before his suicide in 1994 is at the centre of a legal wrangle between his widow COURTNEY LOVE and ex-bandmates KRIST NOVOSELIC and DAVE GROHL.Accordng to US reports, Love was granted an injunction temporarily stopping the song from being delivered on master tapes for the 45-song Nirvana box set which is set for release in the autumn.The song, known by several titles including 'You've Got No Right', 'You Know You're Right', 'On The Mountain' or 'On A Mountain', is described by Love's lawyer as "a spectacular piece of music" and "probably one of the most important pieces of music to be released in years" A court date has been set for September 30, 2002, which scuppers the release of the box set - which was to mark the tenth anniversary of the release of 'Nevermind' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ June 21st 01 MOST WANTED IS BACK! Lars, James and Kirk are still looking for a New Bass Player to replace Jason Newsted. Early this month Metallica made there first public appearence since Newsteds Departure from the Band. They told Kerrang Magazine that there next Album will be stepping away from the style of "LOAD" and "RELOAD". Metallica will be spending this summer to record there album.
