High Grade vs Low Grade Oils

There are three grades of essential oils: Grade A, B and C. Over 90% of the essential oils in this country are of the lower grades. Only Grade A oils carry frequency, are labeled therapeutic grade, and have the full health benefits

Pure essential oils are expensive. Often one thousand pounds of plant are needed to produce one pound of essence. When purchasing essential oils, it is important to take note of their purity, quality, and price. While pure, natural essential oils may seem expensive, small amounts go far, making them cost-effective

Therapeutic grade oils have the highest electrical vibration on the planet that can be ingested and carried throughout our body. When these oils enter our bloodstream, which they do easily, both the chemicals and the vibration are carried to all the cells of the body.

Their oxygenating molecules effectively transport nutrients to the cells of the body. A nutritional deficiency in the body is often caused by an oxygen deficiency. Therefore, the oxygenating molecules in the oils can help the body receive and assimilate nutrients to maintain health.

Vibrations Frequencies and Health

We create our reality from energy we call thought, belief and emotion. We are comprised of electro-magnetic energy; this energy has a vibrational frequency that attracts similar frequency. We change our reality by taking responsibility and changing our thoughts and feelings to reflect that which we seek to attract. By working with high vibrational plant essences, being clear in our intentions and thoughts, we are better able to attract those conditions that resonate with higher frequency.

Those of us putting high frequency essential oils into our bloodstream are finding that our overall emotional, mental and physical frequency resonates at a higher vibratory level, which then attracts energy that facilitates healing and strengthens our resolve in the process of personal evolution.

These plant essences are formulated to facilitate deep emotional release, help us be more receptive to communication and connection with Source, help clear obstacles that prevent us from moving toward our life's purpose and enhance our passion for life. The oils work synergistically with spiritual and healing practices such as massage therapy, reiki, acupressure, acupuncture, light body activation, shamanic work, and cellular level release work.

Carrier Oils

What are carrier oils? Carrier oils are used to be the base oil for your essential oil mixture. You will use a carrier oil (list below this table) as a base to mix your essential oil(s) of choice:

Normal Dilution
ml of carrier oil ÷ 2 = drops of essential oil to use
e.g. 20 ml carrier oil ÷ 2 = 10 drops of the essential oil

Low Dilution
at 1% for sensitive skin and during pregnancy ml of carrier oil ÷ 4 = drops of essential oil to use
e.g 20 ml carrier oil ÷ 4 = 5 drops of essential oil to use

Extremely low Dilution
for very sensitive skin, children and babies Use just 1 drop of essential oil per 10 ml carrier oil, or use sweet almond oil by itself.

Carrier Oil List and Description

Almond- practically ordourless, provides good "slip and glide" for massage. Helps to relieve itching, irritation and inflammation, and soothes dry skin. It lubricates the skin well, but does not penetrate it quickly, which again makes it good for massage and for protecting the surface of the skin. However, it goes rancid quickly; it is helpful to blend it with 10% of wheat germ or jojoba oil for storage. Relatively cheap.

Apricot kernel- particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature, or sensitive skin; soothes inflammation and has a high vitamin A content. Has a lighter consistency than almond and characteristic smell. Its cost is also comparable to that of almond. Suitable for body oils and lotions.

Avocado- rich, heavy, deep green, with lots of skin-nourishing vitamins (A and E). Good for dry and mature skin, and also helpful in eczema and psoriasis. Best blended with other oils.

Borage - high in gamma-linoleic acid (GLA) which stimulates cell activity, assisting in the regeneration and rejuvenation of the skin. Good for skin which is dry and/or mature, or damaged by exposure to sunlight. However, it is quite expensive and goes rancid quickly.

Calophyllum Inophyllum - rich and thick, with spicy smell. Stimulates cell regeneration. Antiseptic. Helps wounds to heal, soothes inflammation, relieves pain, good for broken capillaries, eczema, burns, rashes, insect bites. Quite expensive, though.

Camellia - very light, with just a touch of delicate flowery aroma. Good for preventing the thickening of skin in scar tissue. The Japanese use it for hair care.

Evening Primrose - another oil with a high gamma-linoleic acid content, good for dry and mature skin. Soothes inflammation, good for eczema and dermatitis. Goes rancid quickly.

Flaxseed - rich, yellow in colour, smells a bit like butter. High in vitamin E, stimulates cellular regeneration, useful for preventing scarring and stretch marks. Goes rancid quickly.

Grapeseed- light , odorless, easily absorbed , mildly astringent , tightens and tones the skin, which makes it useful for acne. It is always solvent-extracted, causing sensitivity in some individuals.

Hazelnut- light, easily absorbed, with a delicate aroma. Tones and tightens the skin, strengthens capillaries, assists in cell regeneration. Might be adulterated (beware of "good bargains"!)

Jojoba- similar in composition to the skin's own oils, it is quickly absorbed. Good for dry and mature skin and inflamed conditions. Helps to control acne, oily skin and oily scalp. It is an antioxidant - does not become rancid and can prevent rancidity in other oils. Kukui- very thin, very light , with a strong smell; high in linolenic and inolenic acids, quickly absorbed into the skin. Very expensive.

Olive- has a strong, "foodsy" smell, but also good medicinal properties, soothing and healing the skin, especially when it is dry. Does not go rancid easily and can be stored without refrigeration for a year.

Rose Hip seed- another oil high in GLA, which helps the skin to heal and regenerate. It can prevent the thickening of skin in scar tissue and is helpful in healing burns, scars and stretch marks. However, it can aggravate acne and it goes rancid quickly.

Sesame Seed - thick, with a heavy odor. Good for eczema, psoriasis and mature skin. Soy- light and lightly scented. Contains linoleic acid, can be used for all skin types and is easily absorbed. However, it is often solvent-extracted and goes rancid quickly.

Wheat Germ
- very thick, honey-coloured, smells strongly of dark bread. High in vitamin B, A and E, good for dry and cracked skin, mature complexions, eczema, psoriasis, scars, stretch marks. I use it - with good results - in hair care. It is antioxidant and will extend the shelf-life of other oils.
