Many people today are writing letters to "Dear Birthmother" or "Dear Birthparent" hoping to get a newborn baby to use for adoption.
"Birthparents" is a hokey made up name the adoption businesses use to demean the actual parents of a baby they hope to obtain for their adoption customers. There is no such "thing" as a "birthparent" - every baby has a real mother and a real father.
When a baby is separated from her mother in infancy, the baby does not know how to articulate her suffering. She feels abandoned by her mother - the person nature has designed to be there for her. She cries. Eventually the baby will stop balling up her little fists and crying, eventually the baby will stop trying to get her mother's attention. The baby becomes resigned to her fate. It becomes her "job" to make the infertile people who adopted her happy.
