| ~ The first WHITEHEADs in my notes: George Whitehead b. circa 1714. He shows up in the Craven co. Census 1784 John Whitehead b.circa 1744. Also in the 1784 census, do not know for sure if related to above, but believe to be his son. 1790 Craven County,NC Census shows John as having these children: George James John Girl listed as three boys under the age of 21 and 1 girl. Nothing else listed From a will from Craven County, NC; marriage license also obtained. John S. Whitehead circa 1760, farmer ,married Sidney PHYSIAC/PHYSIOC, in 1791 together they had 7 children: Mary Sidney b.1804 *** John b. 1802 Cherry Abner b. 1815 Hapy Sophia later documents showed he was married to a woman named Rebekah,don't know if any of the above are her children. John James passed away about 1878, and is buried in Birdtown,Ark, Conway Co. Mary Ann George remarried after his death to Daniel David Brewer. They had 3 children together. MY Greatgrandfather, George Washington Whitehead left home when he was about 14 yrs old,(no one knows why), to go to Tx, (to live with someone?). We don't know the reason. Connie Leslie b. 1/2/1902, Hasse,Tx, died 7/16/1980, Silverton,Tx m.Planie Love Stephens 12/21/1926, Both are buried in Silverton,Tx. Verlin Floyd b.4/10/1904, Hasse,Tx. died ? m. Vivian ? Opal Lucille b. 5/14/1906, died 5/16/1975 m. Olen "Dutch" Stephens, resided in Bangs tx. Buried in Dublin?, somewhere between Comanche and Deleon. LeRoy James b.8/14/1908, died 5/1973, buried Nacona Tx m. Vera ?, had one daughter,m. Ova Lee ?, no children MY PAPA Leo Eargle "Doc" b. 2/9/1914, Hasse,Tx died 1/16/1997. buried Lubbock Tx. Resthaven Cemetery. m. Hester Shindler, 3/25/1933, Silverton,Tx. 4 living children Edgar Earl b.7/8/1940 d.1998,buried Lubbock,Tx, Resthaven Cemetery My PaPa did many things in his life, he loved music and could play the Fiddle, the Mandolin, the Guitar, he could even could play spoons and blow into his cupped hands and make music. When first married he farmed land in Crosby , Lubbock and Hockley counties of Tx. In the 1940's he moved to Ropesville, Tx and built a car garage, He was involved in auto racing, and loved to "tinker" with anything with a motor. He went to the "shop" everyday up until just before his death. He is missed everyday, by many. |
