The Family is an organization created by a few memphis city youth to promote students maintaining high GPA's, participation in extracurricular activity as well as sports, well conduct, and kindness to other students. It started as a small group of Students in Snowden Middle School gathering with the title of "Family", an acronym meaning Focusing And Making Improvment in the Lives of Youth. We would participate in all organizations and sports, upon which we were permitted, to try and stay well-rounded, and help other students who were not fair to well in their academics. But as time passed more and more students became interested in becoming a member and were willing to meet our high standards, and thus we grew immensly. With the growing popularity of our organization, our sponsor, Mrs. Govea De Arce, decided that we should strive to make our organization more organized and aim to go national. Thus began our task. |
