Pokemon live in the wild mostly, but they can be trained to fight, for protection, or just for a loyal companion! Different Pokemon can be found in different places in their 'World'. In order to capture a Pokemon, you must first of all have a thing called a Pokèball. It is an object that is a sphere shape and when thrown at a Pokemon, traps the creature inside. You also must have a Pokemon of your own to battle the other Pokemon until the other Pokemon is weak enough to be trapped inside the Pokeball, but not enough to die. When you capture a Pokemon, the Pokemon will be loyal to you. Pokemon can have different types, such as grass, fire, water, electric, etc. Different types of Pokemon will do better or worse in battle depending on the type of the opposing Pokemon. When you start the Red or Blue version of the Pokemon game, you have a choice of 3 Pokemon, they are Bulbasaur(grass type), I recommend this one for beginners, Squirtle(water type) and Charmander(fire type). In the game, you also have a rival. He will try to choose a Pokemon that he thinks will be better than yours and be able to beat yours in battle.
