CONTROL
Looking for answers, trying to understand, can create more difficulty than healing.
There are times when the experience needs to work its way deeply into us without our mind's interference, its weak attempts at rationalizing, justifying, understanding.
At the still point there are no words. Understanding becomes so vast that it is paradoxically incomprehensible.
At the level of experiencing a painful event, explanations are often a way of trying to escape the experience.
We try to dismiss the experience as merely due to this or that psychological reason, or dysfunctional family of origin, or some such.
That can keep us from finding the true depth of the experience.
Don't understand.
Trying to understand is sometimes actually a way of trying to control.
Let go of all need and allow things to emerge in their own way.
The experience of divine bliss is beyond all expression.
So is the experience of pain.
Let the stillness do its work.
