MERRY CHRISTMAS and A GREAT 2008!
2008 will soon be here and my wish for you is joy, happiness and peace! Make it a good one! Be sure and vote but not until you research the candidates and what they stand for; and how they've lived their life so far.

This has been a year of 'learning experiences'...I've learned about dealing with broken bones, a wrecked car, burglary, robbery, disappointments, heartaches, and stress! BUT, through it all I had the opportunity of having my much-loved grandkids around me, living in a wonderful spot on planet earth (even if it isn't the greatest house)...chit-chatting with GREAT people, finding new relatives and getting to know new people. I still love doing genealogy and don't care whose family it is, theirs or mine, I love connecting and recording families.

I'm working with all I can muster, to write well enough to record the things I saw and did during my lifetime; the people I knew who influenced my life or who I found interesting enough to record for all time. I’ve joined a Writers group and with my friend Helen, we attended a summer Writers conference. I think it taught me that writing is difficult but sitting at a Writers conference trying to sell the finished product is probably even harder! But, I am working in anticipation of the day when I feel comfortable putting words on paper. If I could ride horses, drive long-haul truck, deliver babies and raise them to adulthood...I will probably figure this 'writing' thing out.

My oldest son, Don got married on the 7th of July, 2007 (Yes, 7/707) to Vickie and I couldn't be happier. We all love Vickie. She and Don met and dated 20 years ago, then went their own way but couldn't forget about each other. So, when they ran into each other again, they made sure they'd spend the rest of their life together.

Jim and wife Janice are postal employees and they live a really happy life...and they're even happier I'm not sending cards out this year and using a webpage instead. (I don't understand why some words are underlined but...well, this is a 'free' website, sorry!)

Tim and wife Debbie and daughter Natalie and Katie travelled several times this year and I love it when they send pictures to me via their Blackberry.

Tami's daughters Kayla and Rachel have spent a lot of time with me this year; Kayla is on a 4 year scholarship at Yale University and keeps in constant touch with me and her sister, Rachel. We love to hear about things at Yale.

My 3rd great grand baby will be arriving in January, I got to see a picture of him already, a 3-D sonogram. I love the new hi-tech marvels! What in the world did we do without cellphones, TVs, computers, Playstations, and 3-D sonograms. My kids take all these things for granted and I don't even try to explain to them what it was like before we had all those luxuries; we had to wait 'til the moment of birth to find out if it was a boy or a girl. We had to do things like jump rope, play 'catch' and climb trees instead of sit in front of a screen. And, the very thought of living in a house with a phone that was on a 13 party line would put my grandkids into cardiac arrest...so, it'll be our little secret. Okay?

And now, remembering the friends and family I love so much! Thank you for being in my life! You are loved,

Big Christmas Hug, Doneva
