Tuxedo Mask (Tuxedo Kamen,and the Moonlight Knight (Tsukikage no Knight),Darien, (Chiba

Mamoru) which ever you would like to call him. (Japanese names in Parenthesis.)He is

the "guardian" of Earth and aids those who fight against evil mainly the Sailor Senshi.

He's a strong, athletic, and intelligent guy. While growing up, Darien has wanted to be

so many different things (resulting in a large collection of books in his home based on a

wide variety of subjects and topics). Now, Darien attends a university in Tokyo, where he

hopes to become a doctor. When in his more powerful form, Tuxedo Mask, he's basically the

same type of person. He is dedicated to the very end, making sure that the Sailor Senshi

are safe and that evil never has a chance to prevail.

Darien's past stems all the way back to the Moon Kingdom of the Silver Millenium, at

which time he was known as Prince Darien. During the Silver Millenium, Prince Darien was

the Prince of Earth. While on one of his travels to the Moon Kingdom, his attractive

looks and great personality caught the eyes of the Princess of the Moon, Princess Serena

(who we know as Serena.)Once they had both met each other, it was fated love at first

sight. Their love for each other would last through their sord of secretive and tragic

pasts, into our future, and through their present.

After the end of the Silver Millenium, Darien is reborn on Earth but with one thing

missing: him memories of Princess Serena, the Moon Kingdom, and the Silver Millenium! In

the beginning of the 1st season of the SailorMoon series, when Darien meets Serena a few

times, he doesn't recognize Serena as his one and only love from the Moon Kingdom of the

Silver Millenium, Princess Serena. Instead, he makes fun of Serena every chance he gets!

Darien would poke fun at Serena's horrible, uncontrolable eating habits, her ditziness

and her "unique" hairstyle "meatball head". While Darien is developing a disliking for

serena, Serena is developing the same disliking for Darien. However, quite ironically,

Sailor Moon (Serena) falls completely in love with Tuxedo Mask (and at this time, she

doesn't know that Darien is really Tuxedo Mask)!

The mission of Tuxedo Mask at the time of the 1st SailorMoon season was to find the

Silver Imperium Crystal, the item needed by him to find his "mysterious" Princess.

(Tuxedo Mask was awakened inside of Darien to find the Silver Crystal and the Princess

needed to defeat the NegaVerse/Dark Kingdom and save Earth from total destruction).

Sailor Moon finds out that Darien is Tuxedo Mask when she and Darien are lured into a

battle for the pieces of the Silver Crystal, the Rainbow Crystals, at the Starlight Tower

by a negaVerse general named Zoisite. After Serena is forced to morph in front of Darien

in an elevator (in order to save herself and Darien from a firey attack from Zoisite,

Darien is then forced to morph into Tuxedo Mask in order to save Sailor Moon and gain all

of the Rainbow Crystals from Zoisite. One thing leads to another, and Tuxedo Mask is

mortally wounded by a sneak attack from Zoisite by a crystal shard to his back. By the

time the 4 other Inner Senshi arrive, Tuxedo Mask is already dying in Sailor Moon's arms.

The very moment that Sailor Moon begins to cry for Tuxedo Mask, the Rainbow Crystals are

whisked away from Zoisite's lover and partner, Malachite, and are united with one of

Sailor Moon's tears to form the mystical Silver Imperium Crystal! Not long after that,

the Silver Crystal combines itself with Sailor Moon's scepter and Sailor Moon stands up

to get it. Then, Sailor Moon is transformedn into the Princess of the Moon, her TRUE

former self, Princess Serena right in front of Zoisite's, the Inner Senshi's and Tuxedo

Mask's eyes!

Once Darien is cleansed of the evil brainwashing of Queen Beryl and the NegaVerse is

defeated in Earth's northern latitudes, EVERYONE including Darien, Serena, Amy, Lita,

Mina, and Raye loses their memories of the Moon Kingdom, the Silver Millenium, and their

final battle against the NegaVerse. During the 1st part of the SMR series, all 5 of the

Inner Senshi's memories are brought back thanks to some of Luna's magic and Artemis'

help, but Darien's aren't. Because Darien's subconsciousness is aware of the threat that

Alan, Ann, and the Doom Tree pose, it is able to use Darien's love for Serena and his

desire to aid the Senshi to create a man known as the Moonlight Knight . all throughout

the 1st part of the SMR series, the Moonlight Knight helps Sailors Moon, Mercury, Mars,

Jupiter, and Venus when they are up against either Alan, Ann, or a monster used by Alan

and Ann to steal energy for the Doom Tree. The Moonlight Knight doesn't reveal who he

really is until the Senshi's final battle against Alan, Ann, and their Doom Tree. You

see, after the Doom Tree is cleansed by Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon enters an unknown space

where she then meets up with the Moonlight Knight. Not long after that, the Moonlight

Knight takes off the cloth that covers much of his face and reveals himself to be no one

else but Darien! Sailor Moon is totally shocked! The Moonlight Knight then explains how

he was created and that Darien doesn't have the energy to sustain him (the Moonlight

Knight) much longer. Following his talk with Sailor Moon, the Moonlight Knight then

enters Darien's unconscious body and gives him the energy to live on and love Serena.

Things concerning Darien only get more confusing and interesting by the time the 2nd part

of the SMR series comes around. It's the beginning of that part of the series and Darien

and Serena are spending some "quality time" together at a park. While Serena has Darien

in a sticky, candy lip-lock, a little girl drops from the sky and demands that Serena

give her the Silver Crystal the girl in question ends up being Rini/ChibiUsa. Once things

start to unravel and more and more of Prince Diamond's NegaMoon (Dark Moon/BlackMoon

Clan) agents are eliminated by the Sailor Senshi Rubeus, the 4 Sisters of

Nemesis/Ayakashi Sisters, Emerald/Esmeraude, Darien along with Serena, Rini, and the 4

Inner Senshi find out once they reach the ruins of Crystal Tokyo, the Tokyo of the future

that he Darien is known in the future as King Darien, that Serena is known as NeoQueen

Serenity and Darien's wife, and that Rini is their daughter and the Princess of Crystal

Tokyo and the future moon, Princess Rini (Princess Lady Serenity).

Even though Darien has multiple versions of himself, he is most commonly known as Tuxedo

Mask. And as Tuxedo Mask, from the 1st season of SM to SMSS, he serves as a protector,

friend, and close confidant for all of the Sailor Senshi. He encourages the Sailor Senshi

to never give up and fight for love and justice. It is HE that convinces Sailors Pluto,

Uranus, and Neptune to work with the other Senshi to fight the Bureau of Bad Behavior

during the SMS series. Without Tuxedo Mask, the Sailor Senshi could potentially be

seriously weakened.

Powers/Transformations:

Tuxedo Mask Transformation-(He doesn't really say anything to turn into Tuxedo Mask, he

just transforms; this only happens once in the whole series)
