SUGGESTED CD'S
"The Visit", Loreena McKennitt - She has a beatiful voice and a knack for taking traditional poems and setting them to music. This disc includes her own version of "The Lady of Shalott", based on the poem by Tennyson. My favorite song on the disc is the traditional "Bonny Portmore", a songabout the deforestation of Ireland by the english nobility (it looks like deforestation is a problem that dates back several years). Those of you who are fans "Highlander: The Series" will recognize this as the song used in the Homeland episode. The disc also includes a very unique version of "Greensleeves".
"The Book of Secrets", Loreena Mckennitt - As with "The Visit", McKennitt mixes her own orginal music with traditional. Her muscial version of "The Highwayman" is a treasure. This disc also includes her hit, "The Mummer's Dance", a song that was later used as the theme for the unfortunately short-lived series "Legacy".
