| [Scene 5: Girls’ Locker Room] (GIRLS dressing for gym/chatting/lying around lazing, camera focus on JAYCI sitting on bench looking bored, ANGELINA enters locker room) JAYCI: (sees ANGELINA, immediately jumps up, rushes to her) Angelina! Thank God you’re here. ANGELINA: (slightly surprised at JAYCI’s sudden appearance) Jayce? JAYCI: (continues talking) You have no idea how sucky the day’s been. First Tommy evades book carrying duty, and guess who has to do it again. ANGELINA: Uh, you? KIMBERLEY: (enters locker room, walks towards ANGELINA) JAYCI: Duh, who else? And I bump into the worst jerk alive on these grounds, who caused me to get detention after school, and... ANGELINA: (digesting JAYCI's words) Wait a minute. You have detention today after school? Jayce!!! We were supposed to go catch that new movie, remember? KIMBERLEY: (comes up to ANGELINA, bright & chirpy) Hi, Angelina! JAYCI: (stares directly at KIMBERLEY) Who’s she? KIMBERLEY: Hi! I’m Kimberley. I just transferred in from... (extends hand to JAYCI) JAYCI: (cuts KIMBERLEY off, raises her hand in a "stop" manner) Save it for the welcome committee, girlie. (to ANGELINA) So, I was saying... ANGELINA: Uh, Jayce, this is my new friend Kimberley, I met her in Lit class. Kim, this is my longtime friend Jayci. Jayce, play nice. JAYCI: (grudgingly) Hi. KIMBERLEY: (smiles) Hi. JAYCI: Can we get back to what I was saying? I... GIRL: (rushes in) Miss Fanter’s coming! (STUDENTS rush about in panic/run out of locker room/dress faster) MISS FANTER: (enters locker room) Girls! What are you all doing? This isn’t your holiday no more! Move it, on the double, NOW! Hup hup hup! Last girl out will give me 50 burpees! (GIRLS rush out of locker room, along with KIMBERLEY & ANGELINA) JAYCI: (mutters to herself) No wonder you’re still single. MISS FANTER: What was that, Enriquez? Move! JAYCI: (rolls her eyes, goes out of locker room) |
