The various species of Crystalin

Welcome to species 101! Here you can find all about the species and races you can be, and even some you can't. ^-^
(note: species you CAN be are marked with a *)

*Humans: the most common. Posses high adaptability and imagination, but not the strongest of the races....

*Demons: Most are aligned with the daemons, but not nearly all. Most people know this, too. There is one easy test to see if you are a daemon's demon: if you can act on your own. The minions of the daemon have no minds of their own, and think only of killing. Demons posses high strength and endurance.

*Dwarfs: Short, stocky, strong, and great builders and miners. But they don't tend to have much imagination, and seem to be a bit literal-minded.

*Elves: Tall, thin, and great archers, elves excell at stealth. They also seem to be tied in with forests, where they like to dwell, though they have been seen living in other environments. Elves, however, do not usually posses strong magic.

*Centaurs: Half horse, half man, they rival elves in archery. They have speed and strength, but because of their horse half they lack in agility and dextarity. There are many things a man can do that a centaur cannot. But don't tell them that. Centaurs tend to be extreemly proud.

*Faeries: The faeries, once reclusive, are no longer safe because of the demons that have ravaged their homelands. They have fled to live among the humans, and once a rare site, are now accepted as a normal race. They posses potent magic, but are not much physically. The also posses the ability of flight, though their wings are frail.

*Halflings: Magic does strange things, and the halflings are an obvious example. Unlike the centaur, where each half is seperate for the most part, halflings are a combination of animals and humans. They most often have fur covering their bodies, and other assorted features from the animal that makes up their other half. They are not too bad in a fight, can posses medium to potent magic, and have the ability to change completely into their animal form, and back again to their halfling form, though they cannot become human. Other than this, they are much like humans. They seem, however, to have some problem taking anything but a fight seriously.

*Giants: Big. Strong. Slow. Strong. Not a huge amount of magic. Did I mention stong? 'Nuff said.

Dragons: They're big. They're stong. They have VERY powerful magic. Most, however, have gone into hiding, for the daemons know how to control a dragon, and the dragons know that would be disaster. The known dragons of Crystalin are listed below, but as their dragoons (see Magics and Jobs) appear, we learn of more.....
--The She Dragon. The most powerful of them all, the is their queen and their mother. Disappeared around the same time as Gryphon, who is said to have been her friend.
--The Flame Dragon, Chronos. First son of the She Dragon, he commands the flames. He has gone into hiding.
--The Thunder Dragon, Killiner. Second son of the She Dragon, he commands the storms. Also has gone into hiding.
--The Wind Dragon, Sysin. First daughter of the She Dragon, she commands the winds. She disappeared just after the daemons invaded.
--The Dark Dragon, D'dix. Fourth son of the She Dragon, he commands the powers of darkness. He is known to be controlled by the daemons.
--The Light Dragon, Holinite. Second daughter of the She Dragon. She commands the powers of the light, and has gone into hiding.
--The Bronze Dragon, Magus. Fifth son of the She Dragon, he commands the earth. He has gone into hiding.

Dragonets: Young dragons. Posses SOME magic, but not nearly as much as their adult counterparts. They will bond with the first living, intelegent thing they see. Occasionally used as pets. Dragons will come to the defence of any dragons, even if they are not bonded to another dragon, calling them "little cousins".

Griffins: Half bird, half cat. Very intelegent. They have gone into hiding somewhere in the mountains. They posses strong magic over the elements and time, and a battle between them and the dragons would be almost evenly matched, and a sight to behold.
