Hi. My name is Emilee. I love camels and horses. But since I want a camel when I get older I decided to reasearch them and give some information on them on this website. It won't be all that great, I'm not a real wiz with computers but I'll try my best. Oh, and if you already know some about camels or maybe work at a zoo, visit my message board and answer the question I have there youcan start a new topic! You can also visit "About Us" by clicking on it on the table of contents.

Facts about camels: Their humps store fat and if they don't eat their humps shrink. Camels with one hump are called dromedary camels and camels with two humps are called bactrain camels. Camels can drink 27 gallons of water in 10 minutes. They live in Northern Africa, middle east, Austrailla and Northern India. They eat thorny plants, dry plants and saltbrush. They can get up to 11 ft in length and can wiegh up to 1,210 lbs. They were called the "Ships of the Desert" because they could carry up to 1,000 pounds and can carry it for a long time. Camel races are popular in the middle east. Camel meet taste like beef. Wierd. I would never eat a camel. Ewww. They are normally caramel or a sandy brown color. They have double eye lashes and eye brows. They have long, shaggy hair on their throat, shoulders, and hump(s).
