Siti Sachdeva Tutorials - Theme on educational programmes for Siti Network Watershed Management: During my last two years (92-94) at Development Educational and Communication Unit (DECU), SAC/ISRO, I was designated Project Leader for a series of Instructional Programmes on Watershed Programmes and Management. During the course of which, I worked extensively with the officials, engineers/agronomists, soil scientists and forest officers of the Department of Watershed Development, Government of Rajasthan. This series was funded by the Rajasthan Government. The programmes undertaken were on the following subjects: 1. Techniques of Water Harvesting 2. Hedges and Fences 3. Wind Breaks and Kana Bandi 4. Pasture Development 5. Contour Forming 6. Check Dams 7. Plantations 8. Water Cooperatives These programmes were made into six programmes having a duration of thirty minutes each. The production of these programmes were involved extensive shootings throughout the year, different phases of its implementation. This proejct was supported by World Bank and Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. GIS/Technical expertise was provided by RRSC, Jodhpur. I was a Member of the First Boat Crew and participated in a long distance swim across Dal Lake in Kashmir. I was the Secretary of Mathematics Association, Centre for Advanced Study in Pure Mathematics at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Current Assignments on hand and Proposed : I have been commissioned to produce a documentary on Indian Space Programme covering a time span of 40 years. by the Department of Space, Government of India. I am also producing a documentary on Jhabua Development Communication Project for Development and Educational Unit of ISRO. I have bagged contracts to do documentaries on a few corporates of Ahmedabad like Five Star Pharmaceuticals, and Saket Energy Audit Division. I am directing and photographing a series of instructional and informatic documentaries on GNFC (Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company ) covering production , product line and safety. I am also commissioned to direct documentary on Kandla Port Trust and KAFTZ at Kandla, a premier of India I have been commissioned to produce a six part series on Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited, on the role this project will play in the socio economic development of Gujarat. I have also proposed documentaries on various ISRO centres and NRSA for which I have already done the filming already as a part of Space Project. I have also proposed a series of Programmes on “Water” in the sponsored category on Doordarshan. |
