| Main Characters: -Bob -Dot -Phong -Enzo -Frisket -Hexadecimal -Megabyte The story opens up with Dot in the Diner, working on her organizer and plenty of other business. Dot comes in and reminds her of her promise to go out with him and Bob. He drags her out and they're amazed to see Bob there, with his WORKING car. Enzo turns back to say something to Dot, then realizes that she had gone back inside. He and Bob go in after her, drag her out, throw her in the backseat, and drive off. Meanwhile, Megabyte is in his limo, showing Hack and Slash a device he had stolen from Hexadecimal. Just then, Hexadecimal shows up, demanding he give it bac. She sends a bunch of nulls across the bridge, but Hack and Slash throw off a piece of it and all the nulls go falling into the water. Some of Megabyte's tanks come and start shooting at Hex, but she creates a forcefield and doesn't get hurt at all. Then she conjures up a big blast, blowing all the tanks away. Megabyte goes back to his Tor, where he shows off the device he had just stolen, the 'Medusa'. He wants to see what it does so he opens it, and finds out it's a Viral bug! It starts to slowly infect his arm, turning him to stone. Hex then vid-windows him, glating about how he had gotten himself into trouble. Megabyte becomes fully infected, and now the Medusa spreads even faster. It infects the whole Tor and starts spreading across the city. Meanwhile, Dot is resting on the side of the road while Bob tries to get his car working again. Somehow it had broken down on the way to the park. Enzo then notices Frisket running their way, followed by the Medusa bug spreading across the ground. Dot, Enzo, and Bob jump into the car while Bob tries to get his car working again. They manage to get it working and jump in, just as the Medusa infects the ground beneath them. Enzo looks down and is watches in horror as Frisket gets cornered and infected, turning to stone. The three immediately go to Phong. Phong explains that it's the Medusa virus. Everything it infects turns to stone. But Bob may be immune because of his protocal. (Guardian.) He then gives him a Viral erase command, which hopefully will stop the virus. Bob goes out and tries the command, but it doesn't work. He returns to the Principal Office where Dot is now bringing the uninfected citizens of Mainframe in. Phong isolates the Center from the rest of Mainframe. All the links are taken down, firewalls cover the gateways, the ball on top retreats, and the shield goes up. But the bug breaks through; everyone is turned to stone. Bob breaks out of his shell and goes after Hexadecimal. She is surrounded by stone people, including Scuzzy. Bob tries to infect her, but she manages to figure out what he is doing. He then decides another approach, telling her that now that everything is cast in stone, Mainframe wil be very predictable and quiet. No more unexpected things to happen. This is too much for Hex, who would rather have chaos then anything. She freaks for a moment, then snaps her fingers. Everything go back to normal and the bug is gone. Dot, Enzo and Bob finally have the chance to go on their picnic. Bob says he'd like to just have a nice long nap when 'WARNING, INCOMING GAME' booms across the system. |
