The Poon Hunters came into the SHL season opener with one goal...destruction. They achieved their goal with a 5-0 win over the Unknowns. Starting the scoring was Greg Shaw, who scored early in the game from a crisp pass from the enforcer Andy Piatkowski. The scoring continued when Robert D'Agostino stole the puck in the nuetral zone from ZQ and was on a clear break to put the Poons up 2-0. D'Agostino continued his scoring rampage with a one timer from Andy Piatkowski. The scoring slowed down and it became a defensive battle. The momentum began to shift to the Unknowns slowly, but Tony Scrace, the Poons goalie, stood his own stopping everything that came his way. With the momentum sloly shifting into the hands of the Unknowns, Andy Piatkoski, the enforcer wouldn't allow it anymore. After Andy tackled Nick Farina in the grass the game shifted into the favor of the Poons. With the score 3-0, The Poons were not satisfied, especially Robert D'Agostino who netted his third goal on a pretty pass from Greg Shaw. 4-0 The Poon Hunters still weren't done yet, and Jason Ritz pinched in from the point and recived a one timer from Greg Shaw putting the Poons up 5-0, which is what the game stayed. The Poon Hunters hope to continue thier assault on the SHL when they meet the Unknowns again this Saturday. Let's see if the Unknowns can make this one a game.
